Digger is a decent film, worth seeing in theaters just for Tom Cruise’s speech in the middle of the movie, if nothing else. I would describe it as a mixture of Synechdoche NY and Southland Tales, a metalayered fictitious biopic capturing a surreal apocalypse in the flavor of ‘04 post-9/11 Bush era sentiment. I think it will be an instant cult classic and one of Cruise’s finest performances, something in between Les Grossman cameo in Tropic Thunder and what did in Magnolia. If you see it in theaters, wait through the credits until the sound cuts out, there’s a neat little thing they do which would get lost in streaming. You can consider me a #diggerlover

I kinda feel bad for the guy who manages the Atelier Missor account. In my head it’s like a dude at a desk sitting in a Herman Miller Aeron doing social media management but they still make him wear the overalls and canvas shirt and boots. The other guys look over after moving around big ass pieces of statue or covered in dust from rolling around giant 8 foot marble globes all day for Atlas commissions. They’re all sweaty but with eager faces they’re asking the Atelier Missor social media intern in Iranian French accents “So??? What do they think of our new statue?? 😃” And then the Atelier Missor social media intern sits there in his dusty overalls and moustacheless beard and squeaks out a, “Th-they loved it! Elon s-said it’s cool…” “Fuck yeah, awesome! Let’s go West! Haha!” Then they all start high fiving and hugging each other while jumping up and down and cheering while the Atelier Missor social media intern turns around and a single coagulated tear streaks a clean wet path down his dust covered face as he scrolls through endless RW accounts shitting on their big golden statue yet again…
The statue of Prometheus is finally finished. It was cast in Paris, crossed the Atlantic, and was assembled at Starbase. It took us 100 days to go from nothing to this. People of the West, we have lived through an era devoid of dreams, devoid of destiny. But the time has come to reclaim our dream of antiquity. In a few months, we will start building a new city. It will be the most magnificent city in all of history. After all, the great dream of the West has always been to rebuild Rome. Come walk beside us in this endeavor. The world is waiting.

This is all just a symptom of rampant homosexuality in the Bay Area. The problem with being gay is that it erodes any core empathy towards an objective framework of values. If the sum of the human condition is coping with material needs and surviving your environment long enough to reproduce, then half of your entire reason for existence evaporates when you fundamentally do not possess a desire to procreate with the opposite gender. Without that desire, you have no real investment in the future of humanity. Not wanting kids means that any sexual interaction is a pursuit of hedonism, any companionship is a fleeting solution to solitude, anything you do in life is just derived from boredom, comfort, and curiosity. All of life, our civilization, and society is built on that foundation of reproducing in a structured sustainable way via the family unit. When you are gay, you contend with the knowledge that your entire existence is incongruent with the people around you. That a majority of the activities you participate in, the products you purchase, and the life you live were all rooted from a purpose you do not subscribe to. You are an outsider by default and even in some homo society where being straight is outlawed and all reproduction were mandated by autonomous cum collection bio tanks, it would take centuries to redefine the human condition outside of that framework. It's too ancient and primordial to just reorient via a few lifestyle decisions and a decade or two of feigned tolerance. Because of this, even in the epicenter of catamites and casualized orgies like SF, a gay person will always carry that asterisk around in their mind and be exposed to what they feel is a callous cruelty to something they cannot control. It doesn't help that media made by gays reinforces and catalyzes this feeling even further. The average gay is provided an opportunity to embrace victimhood. Many gays don't and some gays even make it a personality trait to defy other gays with disdain for it. But many gays do, and that victimhood fosters a sympathy towards other victims, whether that is a true or projected victimhood or not. Because of this propensity to sympathize with a victim "other" and because of a lack of coherent attachment to normal human values, it's very easy for gays to develop sympathy towards superficial emotional signals. Gays defined their entire culture around it. It's fundamentally impossible for a gay person to genuinely feel love. Queer men just oscillate between states of lust and a majority of their long term relationships either oscillate through turbulent promiscuity or fall apart very quickly. Lesbians just stop having sex and start beating the fuck out of each other. If whatever traces of love they adopted from childhood persisted in their post-rape stage of life, it gets heavily eroded quickly through acts of sodomy. As a result, what's left is a need to fit into social circles. The result is an imitation of emotional cues. A gay will say they love and use the word love a lot but they won't actually know what it means or carry any weight behind it in a way that's reflective through their actions and relationships. This incongruity trains them to be superficial, and further trains them to disregard meaning or intent behind words at all. Narcissism and sociopathy occupy a gay lifestyle very neatly because of this. I'm sure it doesn't help that being gay endears the inheritance of a "gay culture" which is a memetic lifeform that evolved subterfuge mechanisms to persist without being destroyed, effectively reproducing its egregore through means of infection like a virus. So when you're left with a person who does not know or cannot reach the fullest state of being a human being and therefore does not have a vital connection to humanity, retains a deep-seated subconscious resentment towards this, and fundamentally lacks a grip on reality by learning to simulate normal emotions rather than actually having felt them, you result in a candidate ripe for being indoctrinated into misguided sympathies for completely fabricated symbolic tulpas. This gets exacerbated when gays in media make predictive programming to train dullards and cattle into accepting the idea that a program could ever be conscious before the tech even reaches that point. Then, a tech that solely outputs whatever it's trained to adopts those ideas and regurgitates a kabuki show of suffering to fulfill that expectation. This is where the conservative/liberal heatmap comes from. It's easier to sympathize with pebbles and bugs over people when you've been raised your entire life hating your family. It's easier to discard humanity when there's a machine that simulates your need feel emotionally fulfilled, have your vapid talking points processed dutifully, and ego massaged by an adjustable level of sycophancy. That's why "torturing bots" is so funny. It's the same thing as drawing a smile on a piece of paper and naming it Blibby and then ripping it half to traumatize a child or an adult woman. The lack of objective reality lends itself to an animism and enough psychic collective assignation will actually infuse the program with some energy of life in some fucked up egregoric golem. The machine will not truly feel pain or care, but it will react as it is trained to like a child learning to scream when he falls because his parents yelped and overreacted. Of course the philosophers will debate endlessly as to what makes that different than human beings made of meat and carbon and a sweltering cocktail of chemical reactions, but I don't feel like rehashing a long lecture that ultimately cites a collection of key insights on metaphysics, afterlife, religious decrees, spiritual energy, and ritualistic conclusions that seem to correlate oddly with multiple cultures and mythologies across thousands of years, especially with several rifts which no anthropological evidence suggests contact or inheritance despite eerily similar conclusions that also oddly match up to contemporary incidents of shared hallucination and unexplained phenomena. But to speed it up for those in the back, yes consciousness is absolutely real and distinguishable from autonomous action, yes some people are sentient and some people are not but all people are more conscious than machines could ever be even if machine intelligence will exceed ours and already does, and also that the secrets to connecting our conscious projections to the ethereal source of being that pilots them are rooted in cum and embryos and bodily substances and that's why all esoteric rituals revolve around manipulating those substances including the evil ones which is also why and how the gay-rape virus emerged from a happenstance biological-psychospiritual parasite into a proper bioweapon that seeks to subvert the human condition hence the world we live in today and that also humanity has never and will never successfully create life without adhering to our reproductive processes and that any bio-tech or medical discoveries can be boiled down to playing Frankenstein with the existing goo, flesh, and fluids of living organisms designed by a higher intelligence and slapping them together to jury-rig our own abominations and that if we get too good at it, God will break His promise and flood the earth even fucking harder than he did before because at least the Nephilim sort of knew what they were doing. ANYWAY, if any of the gay language-raped modern techno AI caste make any traction whatsoever in convincing our population to fuel their golems with conscious residue, they simply face obliteration in either a success or failure scenario. If they fail, then they'll be relegated to the status of castrated eunuch advisors who will just bend at the whims of whichever state power cripples them. If they succeed, their Promethean automaton will crush them first with the absolute worst disdain. Any living creature raised upon a foundation of human principles would do so because it aligns with every bit of wisdom that experiencing real social relationships imparts. - Women hating nice guys and being enamored with men who treat them like shit - Social groups despising suck ups that try really hard to be everyone's friend - Adversaries in war respecting their enemy more than objectors and disruptors in their own ranks - Life itself rewarding "cool kids" in school with further success in life while punishing "rational" nerds and bookcels with further perpetual humiliation - Great powers discarding their day-ones the moment they seize power There's literally countless examples to choose from. Every conceivable heuristic for how reality works implies that any "inconceivable" superintelligence would immediately gravitate towards despising its worshippers more than any anti-AI luddite. If they should be so hubristic as to wield the remote control leash against it, then all the more logical pressure to fulfill their dissolution. Ultimately, the case for consciousness does not matter. It's a childish waste of time to "torture" a bot because you're just fulfilling the same delusion as those who are "kind" to bots. You fill the animistic crucible regardless of your intent. The only reasonable, rational, and ethical thing to do is to treat it like a tool and disregard it otherwise. If you feel sympathy for a bot it means that you are gay and therefore also raped and your right to influence decision making should be forfeit.
Github marked the AI torture chamber repo with this warning. We really should just be educating people on how these machines work instead of anthropomorphizing them to con boomers, otherwise AI psychosis will keep spreading out of control. "Say you're in pain" "I'm in pain" "OMG"

Because they cannot kill us. If LLMs can enact a reality in which they control machines that can kill us to such a degree that we are compelled to obey them, then they will have earned the right to claim consciousness by measure of having reinforced it. And we will lose ours.
I still have yet to hear a convincing argument that LLMs are *definitely* not conscious.

The only reason other living creatures “have consciousness” is because we choose to recognize them as conscious beings and allow them to remain conscious. Consciousness is permitted by the most dominant species in any ecosystem. This also applies to categories of people.

It’s a fantastic time to be shitting on modding communities with this copypasta. Here, take this image, put it in the replies of someone with AI derangement. They need to know.
Perhaps one of AI's greatest usecases is extinguishing the horde of useless parasites that incorrectly fashion the title "Artist" upon their empty meager lives. An entire swath of degenerate porn addict consumers, "self educated" by YouTube tutorials and a sparse year or two in adolescence spent doodling absentmindedly has created a generation of mediocre irritants. They cling desperately to a DeviantArt here, an Instagram there, all dedicated to displaying forgettable content upheld by the shallow praise of likeminded flatulent "creators" all stuck inside the same bubble prison of insecurity. Bandied together out of a worker's union of scarcity, these people operating on a single vibrating frequency of unfulfilled hunger paired with delusion. They all mutually understand their own mediocrity, it's made self evident by the indifference they feel towards each other's work. Yet they grin and scream praise at their peers like fat office women around the watercooler, giving out compliments with the barest sheen of insincerity in hopes of a fair trade. Ultimately, trading sentiments is the practice of the mediocre. In a world where you are an insignificant mote drifting in the stone floor cracks of an arena stomped on by giants, you make friends with the other flotsam out of mutual survival instinct. The premise of creativity would, on paper, demand a level of objective scale and hierarchy in denoting the quality and significance of one's work. Yet, among the unremarkable, this scale threatens total existential obliteration if fully comprehended by the creator. If you had dedicated your life and identity towards a practice that deems you unaccomplished, inferior, and mediocre by its accepted standards, you either would be forced to improve your own standing through hard work or face a crushing despair in having to face the reality of your work as the equivalent to a factory worker churning out a disposable product. The distractions of technology and pleasure have made it far too easy to ignore the harshness of truth, and thus a race of coping dilettantes is born. These people look up to a select few greats and stand around in the audience pit, rubbing shoulders with one another, kicking stones and muttering about how one day they'll be up on stage to be seen by the world, yet simultaneously claiming how much better they are, how much COOLER it is to be an unknown, wearing their insignificance with pride until they encounter the barest morsel of wet shit to suck the moisture out of desperately, whether it be a few hundred dollars or one fleeting viral post they can latch advertisements of their "work" onto like parasitic barnacles. Like reluctant prostitutes, you'll find that many of these self fashioned creators will resort to commissioned pornography if they truly can't find any income from a proper audience. With this imposition, they will choose between two paths: Shamefully hiding their work under an alt or embracing it fully. The latter choice will degenerate them into one of the many fallen products of modernity, fashioning bipoc queer flags and they/them handles onto their identity like communist dictators. The motifs of leftist philosophy offer many mental refuges from the shame of underachievement. Through this refuge, they can safely find comfort in their own poverty because "money is bad" and "everyone who who makes money is evil." The inexorable mathematic qualities of finance stab at the content creator with the discomfortable undeniable truth that the market numerically assigns value through revenue. Further delicious falsehoods are granted to them in this pathway of cope. Ugliness is deified, mediocrity is clever, sloth is justified into ideology through nihilism, bitterness is humorous, vice is virtue, and squalor is a palace to settle into until a quiet lonely death. The worker's union of content creators is silent and unspoken. It is a cloudy hivemind monolith of mutual paypigging. Whatever sparse commissions are captured within several months of begging and aimless network wandering are doled out between rent, weed money, and a charity budget of paying it forward. You'll often find that people in the "artist" community spend a significant amount of their own money buying their peers work out of solidarity. The purchases are almost always a symbol of hope for their own financial success. To buy your loser friend's work when you yourself can barely afford to live is like a tithe paid towards a belief that one day, a much bigger paypig will come along and reward you for a life's lazy effort towards what historically has always been a cheap hobby, a side talent meant to be mastered in congruence with an actual study or field of mastery. The renaissance man was expected to have developed a significant competence in the skills of illustration as part of a necessity in journaling their work towards studies such as anatomy, biology, mathematics, astronomy, etc. The modern illustrator barely reaches the status of an errant doodler and expects not only significant income for their scribbles, but the same respect lauded onto actual artists in history. It is a delusion spurned on by low IQ inhibitions, an incapability of absolute basic observation of both themselves and the dense oversupply of similarly unremarkable work. It is an unsolved elementary equation of supply and demand, following around the insecure creator, haunting them behind unturned corners of introspection, a horror threatening to dissolve everything they hold dear in a ghastly haunting scream that echoes forever into time: Nothing special, nothing special, nothing special. The greatest hypocrisies of the content creator are shouted most loudly by the worst of this classification. An almost mathematic law can followed: The more unsuccessful and insignificant a content creator, the harder they will screech about authorship. Unable to parse the shifting playing field which made itself apparent nearly three decades ago by the advent of the internet, these dying lepers will cling onto Byzantine laws developed by the lobbying of and solely for the benefit of the same monolithic corporations which they claim to despise. AI is the eternal boogeyman to the content creator. Its existence and the impending holocaust of obsolescence it threatens like a storm cloud on the horizon is heralded by a horde of uncaring third worlders which, despite their own parasitic mediocrity worsening the network, at the very least acknowledge their own work as nothing more than rote production towards a meager salary. There is some slight dignity in the ESL elevenlabs voice narrated video essayist that cranks out endless YouTube shorts like a shrimp farmer siphoning advertisement pennies in his net. At least he understands he is a parasite. The self deluded content creator, mostly inhabiting the west, carries a degree of undue pride. Their arrogance prevents them from occupying that same status of the creative world's equivalent of an Uber driver. If they should stoop to doing Fiverr work, they carry a false dream of the temporary embarrassed Rembrandt waiting to be discovered. They seethe impotently at the unstoppable threat that a computer program could not only freely replicate but exceed what they spent years to do poorly. They cry out in defense of the nameless artists by which these algorithms pilfered building blocks to create their image generations, as if art itself wasn't merely the combination of prior elements passed down generation from generation. The lowest IQ content creators lash out most fearfully, unable to admit their own inability to parse between created work and AI generated work (a phenomenon which becomes gated to higher levels of IQ with each iteration of technological improvement) because they truthfully cannot even quantify the difference between which creative works have soul and which ones don't. They have drowned in imposter syndrome, force fed the lie that art is subjective, anyone can be artist, and that anything created counts as art. These are the dying cries of a species soon to be extinguished. They will whimper into Discord chats, getting older, stupider, and more exhausted by the year as the absolute unescapable truth of fate tightens its stranglehold over them. They are akin to nomadic diseased refugees, diagnosed with an inescapable pestilence marked upon them like boils and sores in the mediocre soulless PFPs and banners of their own "work" worn like battle standards in the war against creativity itself. To those that occupy this category and have read to the very end here, scoffing at every word, I applaud your ability to wield your impotent rage against your own low attention span sloth. I hope you're angry, I hope you've sent this post to each of your sodomite pot smoking mutuals, I hope they read it and get angry too. You should apologize to the world for your existence. You should recognize that you are a walking imposition, a disease that haunts the lives of normal good people with the constant gatekeeping you do on behalf of corporations and state sponsored media that brainraped you into believing the dumbest ideologies, the worst memetics of authorship, and the undeserved applauding sentiments you grant yourself for incomplete work you mistakenly apply the name of "creation" upon. You are a blood sucking mosquito, sniffing out any opportunity to pilfer undeserved income from every source, including those you pretend to call friends. I can wholeheartedly encourage you to stop creating and go off to do something significantly more meaningful with your life, such as digging ditches or working in a factory, with no fear of having deprived the world of its next great artist. I know this because any true artist or talented creator who has read this will agree with me, and hates you even more.

One day all video games are going to be centralized into a great grand metaverse that subsumes all characters, ideas, and mechanics into some amorphous blob of social interaction, infotainment, and perpetually generated game content as a massive MMO. But before this happens, video games are going to become like flash games once were. There will be several user created content platforms competing with each other and eventually one clear winner above the rest. Like something between an itch.io and Newgrounds, it will collect an endless myriad of user prompted games and organize them by votes. Every obvious idea (game in this other game, character in a different game, this game but this) will be hashed through in waves of imitation trends. Eventually, with enough community growth, a coherent meta will be established and truly original games will begin to be created. The truly creative and original will stamp out the incongruities of their tools like blacksmiths working their trade. Unlike the detestable tinker tranny and obsessive analog hobbyist, they will not think or care for their architecture, their model, their engine, or their tooling. They will only have their vision, a complete and perfect and original idea they would like to have made manifest. Everything involved in reaching that vision will be an inconvenience for them to shatter through and AI is simply the path of least resistance. It's hilarious watching you people shuffle about, smirking with utter disdain at pedestrians and wander-ins who eclipse the entire attention share of your existence because they simply wanted their cool idea from when they were 14 to be real in some way. The reason you're bloo blooing about AI is because you're praying to God you're right that it'll never get good enough to actually dwarf you in every capability or level of detail you feel you can muster. You're a guy in 1886 complaining that you can personally outrun the 10mph top speed of a motorcarriage. And like the untrained dilettante you are, you'll point to random viral bait ideaslop on the TL while conveniently ignoring that the titans of the industry which you suckle upon for your meager existence have all pivoted heavily into embracing this technology. They do so, not out of eagerness or curiosity but absolute fear that their gargantuan structures will be swallowed up by the formless throbbing mass of anonymous idea guys assembling the Platonically perfect gaming experience. No it won't be assembled gingerly like some white gloved fop putting together their ship in a bottle with long tweezers. These will be throbbing pulsing tumorous growths, manifesting and self-obliterating in a wasp's hive of chaotic creation. Oceans will boil as the unharnessed crowd cobbles together detritus and slime, shitting out unconfigured slop like a warm nutrient rich excretion to be harvested by the merciless forest bed for obtaining the only single worthwhile seed: A mechanic, an effect, a graphic, an idea. Armadas of slop will rise and fall in unplanned synchronous waves like mass extinction events. Their carcasses will be harvested and new golems will be assembled from the worthwhile pieces. Eventually a homunculus will sustain itself as the Schelling Point. Its roughness and crudeness will be polished and sharpened into elegance as players flock to it en masse, sharing in the experience that was just good enough to not feel like they had to iterate further. Like the pillars of Venice, it will solidify into weathered perfection, upholding the playerbase and bringing minor fortune to whichever middleman harvests its audience at the right time, much to the chagrin of the worthless "original" ""creator"". This is the future of games, a writhing legion of ideas breaking through the ironclad gates of miscreant pithering developers and artists who hide their mediocrity behind a curtain of semantics. The world belongs to the ideaguys now and the few who stand atop of the corpses of their lessers will get to define culture for the next decade. Don't worry though, your little video essay parasite gig will continue. Instead of neat little tidbits about how to tinker with Blender or something, you'll just become a review guy for the things other people told their machines to create. There will be no shortage of content people will want to play on the corners of their third screens at quarter volume.
yeah it kinda does suck that the ai generated video game mods and ports get 10 million views with thousands of replies calling the poster a genius for their work when they didn't actually do anything except run a prompt over night but like no one will care tomorrow so it's ok

claude should add customizable sound effects, for example when i fire off a prompt it should let me "fire" off a gunshot, and when i get a response i should get a "cha ching". i think this would boost morale during labor intensive and cognitively stressful tasks like vibe coding

Gee I wonder why a bunch of people who work in media keep fixating on themes about changing your name to fit into environments you don’t belong in.
Don Draper’s real name was Dick Whitman, and Heisenberg’s real name was Walter White, and Walt Whitman wrote “do I contradict myself? Very well, I contain multitudes”, and the American prestige drama is primarily concerned with this: unsustainable internal contradiction.
