The left loves to call capital-gains relief a gift to the rich. Reality check: 74% of filers with capital gains in 2022 made under $200,000. This isn’t about billionaires. It’s about middle-class savers and homeowners getting taxed on inflation the government created. Index the basis. End the inflation tax.

I love what is happening in Texas, but it’s important to note that a dual listing by itself won't impact liquidity, competition, or make a difference to retail investors. The symbolism is heartening though, more companies are taking notice of what is being built in the Lone Star State.
Big news out of North Texas this morning!
The largest retail trading organization in the world, @CharlesSchwab, announced it is listing on the Texas Stock Exchange. Their decision to partner with us is a validation of TXSE's innovative dual listing approach — reserved for companies with a market capitalization over $100 billion — which is designed to create meaningful competition among liquidity providers to improve overall market quality in the symbol and drive down trading costs for investors.
America's economic center of gravity is shifting, and Schwab — one of the most respected names in financial services — understands where the markets are headed and what it takes to improve them. The Texas Stock Exchange is proud to partner with Schwab as they position themselves for the future.

Every new technology brings warnings that catastrophe is just around the corner. Yes, AI warrants serious scrutiny. But fear should not blind us to its enormous potential to increase productivity, expand economic growth and improve our lives.

House Democrats’ healthcare agenda could add trillions to federal spending over time. With Washington already facing massive structural deficits, expanding costly entitlements is hardly a solution to affordability. The bill will ultimately land on taxpayers and future generations.

A diesel export ban would backfire on American consumers and run directly counter to President Trump’s affordability agenda.
The result would be less refining, tighter supplies of gasoline and jet fuel, and higher prices across the economy.
@SecretaryWright said it best: “The blunt tool of banning diesel exports definitely doesn't work.”
The Supreme Court will hear Oct. 5 whether Boulder County can sue energy companies over climate damages attributed to fossil fuels. A ruling for Boulder could invite costly litigation nationwide and threaten domestic energy production, affordability and security.

Remarkable courage aboard the FlyDubai flight this week. Everyone survived, thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of passengers and crew, preventing what could have been another tragedy amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. A powerful story of resilience, composure and humanity at its best.

The U.S. economy is picking up speed: business investment jumped 9% in the second quarter, while corporate profits soared 20.8% from a year earlier. AI and data centers are driving a new wave of investment. The doom-and-gloom crowd keeps missing the story.

Great piece by my friends @LarryKudlow and @StephenMoore! Trump’s tax cuts, deregulation, and energy abundance are delivering real gains for families. GOP: shout these numbers from the rooftops. Prosperity works!

A ton of news out there about the upcoming #SCOTUS 10/5 oral arguments in Boulder’s climate lawsuit, lots to digest!
For a must-read on the substance about the case, see timely paper by @mike_frags & legal scholar Ryan Walsh in @NotreDameJLEPP:
.@mike_frags & Walsh make the historical case that states have long been limited in their ability to regulate conduct beyond their own borders.
Their paper shows why that principle matters as SCOTUS confronts claims seeking liability for emissions and conduct occurring across the country and around the world.

An important contribution to a much larger legal debate as #SCOTUS prepares to hear oral arguments in Suncor v. Boulder on Monday, 10/5.

The Left is once again pushing European-style health care on Americans.
Translation: government control, endless waitlists, drug rationing, and less innovation.
America doesn’t need more bureaucrats deciding who gets care and when. We need more choice, competition, and control in the hands of patients.
“For years, the health care debate has focused on insurers and drug companies while too often overlooking the enormous costs, opaque pricing, and questionable practices of many nonprofit hospitals. If we’re serious about making health care more affordable, hospital pricing and accountability must be part of the conversation. Important argument by former U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt and well worth the read.”

The Fed’s fundamental mistake is thinking supply-driven inflation can be crushed by rate hikes. You can’t drill for oil or fix a supply chain by making capital more expensive. The Fed is bringing the wrong weapon to the fight.

Short-sighted political theater is actively dismantling a decades-old economic and national security alliance. North America’s global strength depends on U.S.-Canada cooperation. We need to fix the rift before the fracture becomes permanent.

Mamdani has suddenly discovered that antisemitism is “dangerous and widespread.” But will he actually condemn Hamas and Hezbollah, reject calls for Israel’s destruction and apply the same standard across the board? Don’t hold your breath, New York.
