Much like how we had a feedback campaign for the Digital Fairness Act, there is now a place for you to give feedback on the EU Kids Act: ec.europa.eu/info/law/better…
- Be polite
- Write in your own words and using your own experiences
- Emphasize how video games shouldn't have draconian age verification, private servers without age verification shouldn't be made illegal, etc.
That's not all you can do: Remember to sign the Stop Killing the Internet Initiative if you're an EU citizen: eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/
Contact your Members of European Parliament (@Europarl_EN) about your opposition to the Kids Act. Let them know why they should be opposed too.
Turn up the heat on the @EU_Commission so the Kids Act gets scuttled!
All hands on deck! This is the biggest threat to Stop Killing Games yet!
The EU #KidsAct could end #StopKillingGames by collapsing the EU gaming market and making private and community servers illegal!:

Stop Killing Games movement sounds alarm on EU Kids Act: ‘This is a bomb that could implode the whole video games industry’

Good morning, Europe!
Following the reveal of the potentially devastating EU Kids Act, we'd like to remind you that a 1st step to combat the excessive attack on privacy and freedom is signing the political instrument of an ECI: citizens-initiative.europa.e…#StopKillingTheInternet
Just found out about this from @accursedfarms.
This is insane, especially considering that Stop Killing Games SEEMED to be making the most progress in the EU.

Seems rather suspect that, in the wake of the ESA claiming private servers are illegal, suddenly the European Commission wants to make that a reality.
If you play online games or use a computer , I Need you to watch this video immediately , it is very urgent . ( Trimmed down a bit for brevity , but full video is in the replies )
Game studios are already signaling having to shut down their games due to the EU #KidsAct!
Sign #StopKillingInternet to keep our private servers safe from being illegal, and to keep age verification away from our games!: eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/
If this proposal passes as written, it is the end of SuperTuxKart in the EU — and possibly the end of the project.
We need to be serious for a moment.
We cannot "block the EU market." We cannot prevent private servers. The code is GPL. Anyone can run one.
That is not a loophole — it is the entire point of open source.
We could not detect EU players on VPNs without tracking our players. We will not track our players. Not for Brussels, not for anyone.
A law written for tech giants is about to outlaw free and open source software made with love.
Jesus fucking Christ
If you live in the EU and love videogames, please sign the petition here

It takes like 2 minutes and it might help not live in an even worse shithole that we're already in
📢 @StopKilingGames announces: "Protect Our Games" act in Pennsylvania.
Stop Killing Games is proud to work and announce with @SenatorJohnKane of the Pennsylvania State Senate, the POG act Pennsylvania.
Thanks to @JonahGoldman3 for his work from SKGs side.
No matter what the government, anytime a law is dress with the words "Kids" should be met with click and swift shutdown of trust. For its never about them, but a scapegoat of control. Considering EU does have some sense this will likely be fought, but better to be loud now.
I put together a video going over the most damning parts of the EU Kids Act. It would make playing unsupported games online in the EU illegal, no joke. This is way bigger than SKG, most of the industry seems to be sleeping on this.

Why do politicians seem to hate people being able to play and enjoy games? This excellent video by Ross breaks down why the EU’s Kids Act is just awful. Children do actually need play and games as well to have a happy life. piped.video/watch?v=mQRcK9nY…#Stopkillinginternet
