Happy Sunday! We've got another job to share today - this time, a job posting that happens to highlight the PNPT. Booz Allen Hamilton is #hiring an Enterprise Cybersecurity Penetration Tester (based in McLean, VA) for its internal Red Team, and the PNPT is listed among the certifications they accept. What caught our attention, though, is everything around the certification. Specifically, this role calls for experience with: 🔴 Vulnerability discovery and enumeration 🔴 Exploitation and post-exploitation 🔴 Tools like Burp Suite Pro and Metasploit 🔴 Writing professional penetration testing reports That’s a useful reminder for anyone working toward a #pentesting career: the certification can help demonstrate your skills, but employers are looking for the methodology behind it, too. Which is part of what makes the practical nature of the PNPT so valuable. Check out the job posting for yourself here: hubs.la/Q04z5cQR0

Studying for the PNPT? 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲. A few things can make a major difference before you get ready to take the PNPT (Practical Network Penetration Tester) exam: 🎃 Know what you’re working toward and give yourself a realistic way to track your progress. 🎃 Take care of yourself while you’re studying. Long sessions don’t automatically equate productive sessions. 🎃 Give yourself credit for any milestones along the way. Finishing a course, completing a lab, or finally understanding something that’s been giving you trouble all count. And when exam time comes, remember: the goal isn’t to memorize everything. It’s to build the methodology, problem-solving skills, and persistence you’ll need to work through the environment. For anyone who’s already taken the PNPT: what’s one piece of advice you’d give someone preparing for their first attempt? Buy the PNPT package here: hubs.la/Q04z5bXR0 P.S. One common misconception about the PNPT is the sole coursework needed is the Practical Ethical Hacking course. The package actually features OSINT Fundamentals, External Pentest Playbook, Linux Privilege Escalation, and Windows Privilege Escalation. 💫

Things will break. Labs won't work. Your exploit will fail. You'll spend two hours troubleshooting something that turns out to be one tiny mistake. That's not time wasted. That's part of getting better. Don't let it get you down. <3 Have a good weekend!

What's a logic analyzer and how does it work, and why is it a must-have while testing electronic equipment? 🤔 Watch this quick tutorial for an introduction to how logic analyzers can assist you in decoding UART data. If you've ever been intrigued by hardware #hacking (and we don't blame you), you might want to look into the PIPA (Practical #IoT Pentest Associate). 🔨🤖 This hardware hacking certification is a lot of fun, and you can read more about it here: tcm.rocks/pipa-x

What are some ways you can develop healthy #study tips as a pentester and not burn yourself out in the process? Here are a few tips to help you on your way as you study toward your next cert or take some courses in your free time. 𝗗𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 & 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but consistency in your routine will help you study more effectively and productively! 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿. The healthier sleep you're getting, the more you'll functional at an optimal level. Strive to go to bed and wake up at consistent times. Stabilizing your sleep schedule will help you study and retain information better. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀. Lastly, you want to make sure you are taking notes effectively. Don't get too bogged down by finding the right notetaking app - even a pen and notebook can be useful. The important thing is you are taking notes in a way that makes sense to you and that you review the info often. That's all for now, but feel free to drop your suggestions in the comments!
