Obviously this is disgusting but if you want to maintain optimism you could think of it as the Ellisons Bari- Weissifying all of American soft power, e.g. destroying it.
Warner Bros. & Paramount have merged, releasing a trailer for their new brand; Skydance.

This is so wild. Almost every visible rioter in the French student protests is white, and the racists are trying to make it into anti-immigrant propaganda.
There are two countries in France. There is the true France, ancient France, which came out in force last week for Pope Leo XIV’s visit. True France is Catholic and Western, “the eldest daughter of the Church.” The other France is quite new. It’s the unassimilated foreigners, Muslim and African, who have come to France to pillage and destroy it.

🎥 WATCH: Massacre at Minab: The School That Became a Grave In the opening hours of the war against Iran, on February 28, 2026, the U.S. military fired Tomahawk cruise missiles directly at a school in the southern city of Minab. At least 156 people were killed that morning at Shajareh Tayyebeh school—120 of them were children and 26 were teachers. It will go down in history as one of the gravest war crimes committed by the U.S. government since Vietnam. Drop Site News conducted a two-month investigation into the strike, speaking with survivors, first responders, parents, doctors, teachers, psychologists, and other witnesses. Some of them had never before shared their experiences of that day. This is their story. piped.video/9OmK0oeq5fc?si=x59v…

We interviewed many of the parents and the first responders to the @centcom attack on the Minab elementary school in Iran. It’s probably the most devastating single incident of mass killing of civilians (overwhelmingly children in this case) I can recall in decades and has destroyed the community in which it occurred: dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch…

It is completely insane that no one in legacy media has done something like this dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch… I know Drop Site has a lot of money probably for an independent outlet but still, I assume less than the New York Times.

This sentence shouldn't exist “When we removed the remains of the martyrs, we had pieces of these dear martyred students’ brains under our fingernails—we had to remove their brains from under our fingernails,” he recalled." Everyone read this. @DropSiteNews really is doing the best reporting right now. dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch…

For more than two months, I have been working on a truly horrific story about one of the gravest war crimes committed by the United States since Vietnam: The bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran. It was one of the first targets struck in the opening hours of the war on February 28, 2026. At least 156 people were killed in the U.S. cruise missile strikes—120 of them were children and 26 were teachers. We spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, doctors, teachers, psychologists, and other witnesses. Some of them had never before shared their experiences of that day. It would be impossible to do justice to what happened in Minab that day with words alone. In more than 25 years in journalism and reporting on war, I do not believe I have reported on a more heinous single crime. Massacre at Minab: The School That Became a Grave dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch… Please share this story with as many people as you can.

I kind of feel like the Internet is not the place to litigate a rape case at least until all the facts are in?

I try as much as possible to read graphs with nuance and not fitting my preexisting notions but this graph clearly shows that it's not literal immigration that's the problem but right-wing propaganda about immigration
If the population is this strongly against immigration, immigration should not be radically increased. We need a better way both to stop this ongoing issue, and to prevent our politicians from doing this against us in the future.

God. You knows there's going to be a time we look back on this as quaint because everyone laughs at her instead of considering it.
A contender for the most shocking and revolting comment ever expressed on British television

I regularly run my writing through Pagram just as a fun experiment and not once has it said the it's anything but 100% human written. I wouldn't rely on it, who know if it might glitch out, but so far it works. I wonder, how are people getting these odd results (like the opening to a Charles Dickens book being 65% AI or whatever?

Will someone who works in or around book publishing tell me what the vibe is right now? How have acquisitions changed with the drop in book sales and AI? And are agents and publishers sort of encouraged to stick with already published book authors OR super popular influencer /streamer types?

It's so funny/sad how ideologically tribalistic even smart people are. The tankies for 14 years implicitly sided with Assad/Russia (not stating it outright, usually denialism like over the Ghouta chemical attacks or pretending the White Helmets were a Hollywood psy-op) So now, even though Al-Sharaa is the best hope for Syria—he's adept at appeasing powerful global narcissists and remains widely popular—they're rooting against him. Is the argument here that once he has power he'll restart al-Quada?
Lot of absurd things about the Hasan Piker discourse, but the fact that the obsession with him is happening while the exact same people shrug at or actively fawn over this guy, *a literal al-Qaeda leader* who until last year (2025) was on the US terror list, might take the cake.

Re: elections in Sweden and Berlin it is hilarious to watch the online fascists reach for every possible explanation except that normal people aren't rage filled bigots seeped in the nastiest corners of the algorithm—I believe that is a lesson JD Vance will learn as well.

God when will this tiresome "I'm a teen boy who just read Ayn Rand and I know everything" discourse run its course?
Had this exact conversation with other half today. He was clearly shocked that this thought escaped my lips. However, I feel it necessary to concur with @MaralSalmassi and it gives me no comfort.

So wild. Presuming their audience is so provincial and poor they'd never been to London which is awesome and has been multicultural for generations.

How to deal with the horrid absurdist slop that's Ben Shapiro's "movie?" They had a budget, they could have made an old-style Islamophobic movie ("Not Without my Daughter" etc.) But they opted for insane slop and I think it's so it would get free publicity going viral on the Internet with its badness. Like I keep fighting the urge to retweet the clips that they're circulating to point out how absurd they are but *all* they want is for a bunch of progressives to freak about how offensive and unrealistic the "movie" is and circulate it, all the while boosting it with "LIBERAL TEARS!!!" framing. It's a really Hellish dynamic because most Twitter media people are "knowledge industry" people and so have a Tourette's like tic to debunk and explain.

It is *the* strangest stories of our time that Islamophobia today is magnitudes worse than after 9/11. And that's even though there was obvious organic Islamophobia *and* an administration that needed to sell multiple wars against Muslim countries in 2001. AND today you have more visible totally Americanized Muslims (Mamdani) *and* thanks to the Internet you can just google "Sharia law" and know that it would never be enforced against non-Muslims and that as it exists in America is basically just a way for Muslim women to get a religiously sanctioned divorce. And still.
The targeting and vilification of Muslims is one of the most important stories of the midterms. motherjones.com/politics/202…
