"On Mo Salah’s departure, "I think it went on for too long, and obviously Mohamed Salah said one or two things I didn't agree with, considering there was no point in proving his worth every single year, whereas I think you start from scratch every season. I think he made one or two mistakes as well, and in the end, they found a solution which I think both parties could live with
Salah and Slot's relationship, I think it came at a time where he struggled to score goals from open play, because even in the season they won the league, he didn't score too many goals from open play in the second half of the season. Consequently, the manager was in a tricky position because he was an undroppable player for a long time, but obviously, at some stage, this decision had to be made
Salah, of course, is a big loss because not only did he score a massive number of goals, but he was never injured and could always be relied upon to score a lot of important goals. There is no doubt that a player like him is not easily replaced; they still miss his goals when he was in his prime. But someone else has to step up now, and hopefully, Gakpo will shine and adapt, and hopefully, he will perform well at some stage."
