Will be discussed this week at TC39, aiming to progress to stage 2

👀 Promising tool for your mobile dev harness
- Screenshot mobile screens
- Generate a screen map, post it to a PR
- Browse changed/added/removed screens conveniently
I've been using something similar on websites for years based on sitemap.xml, and it caught so many mistakes.
👀 React Google Maps 1.10
Completed its existing Google Maps 3D support with declarative components
GLB models, HTML markers, polylines, polygons, terrain flattening, and circular paths
The balloon is a 3D marker - animated GLB model
Motion 13.4 introduces <AnimateView />
A lightweight view transitions component built on React's new ViewTransition API. Adds spring support, dynamic targets, animation controls, and a simple props API - no more wrangling pseudo selectors!
👀 React Native 0.88 + React 19.3 🎉
The React version upgrade was recently merged into main
The 0.88 branch is already cut, RC.0 already released
The commit was cherry-picked so it should still be included 👍
🚨 React v19.3 is out!
TLDR:
- <ViewTransition> → stable
- Fragment Refs → stable
- use(browser()) to opt out of SSR
- RSCs can render <Context>, no <Provider> wrapper needed
- Trusted Types support, useful alongside CSP to prevent XSS

React Native 1.0 is still on the horizon
0.87 shipped Strict TypeScript API by default
Now it seems the team is working toward a stricter C++ public API
Many C++ API headers are getting a 3-tier guard system to prevent misuse
For now, will be opt-in with RN_STRICT_API
Exciting summer 🤩
- React Compiler rollout continues: Oxc Biome Bun
- React 19.3 seems around the corner with exciting features 👀
- RN 0.87 paves the way toward v1
- Lots of releases, RCs and interesting articles
We'll take another break next week, see you on september 2 👋
👀 New HTTP QUERY method
Similar to GET, with a body allowed
Safe, idempotent, cacheable
There are also headers to:
- give the query its own URI (Location) to query again without body
- give the response its own URI (Content-Location) to get the same response again
