Unite has long been calling for London's bus services to be returned to public ownership. For too long bus workers have been subjected to intolerable working conditions and passengers have experienced worsening services while bus firms and their shareholders rake in huge profits. Why are buses getting slower every year and more unreliable every year? 1. Cycle lanes are squeezing more traffic into more congested lanes 2. Road works (many of which are to create yet more cycle lanes) This is a displacement activity wrapped up in a stunt.

Is there any chance that buses for London will buy British buses, made by British workers belonging to a British trade union. Public ownership won’t stop abusive passengers. It’s the demographic you operate in.

Intolerable...and yet they (some at least) turn up most days and collect their substantial wage packet. The sooner it's all automated, and run by 15 guys in a datacentre in Hull, the better.
