Every time I see Catholics worshipping relics on X, I think of this scene from the 2003 movie "Luther"

Wait until he applies this technique of quoting scripture to all of Rome's dogma, soon he will find himself outside the Roman Catholic faith. Pray this happens. Pray for consistency. Pray for regeneration.
There is no coherent Christian argument that the death penalty is immoral. God prescribes it for a whole host of crimes in the Old Testament. So if your position is that it is fundamentally evil to execute someone, then you must be saying either that the Old Testament is not the word of God, or that God was morally confused, or that the inherent morality of the action has changed, rendering vast swaths of Scripture irrelevant. None of those positions are compatible with Christianity.
I understand that some Christians try to get around this by claiming that the death penalty was "necessary" a long time ago but isn't necessary anymore. I'm afraid this argument doesn't remotely work. The death penalty is very explicitly prescribed as a matter of JUSTICE in the Bible, not out of "necessity." So, again, either the Bible is just flatly wrong, or God was flatly wrong, or the inherent essence of morality and justice has changed. Basic Christian theology does not leave any of those options open to you.

What's being missed in all this talk about Islam, is this.
The West has been in utter rebellion against the Lord for the past 100+ years. The West has experienced devastating World Wars, killing 100+ million. The West has embraced secularism and turning away from it's Christian roots and Biblical foundation. This has led to the rise of sin being paraded in our streets like Sodom, the murder of the most innocent, wicked governing leaders etc...
By all indications, the Lord is using Islam to SCOURGE the West, in the same way He raised up the wicked Assyrians to take out the Northern Kingdom in 722BC, His chosen people who were in grave rebellion.
When you see Islam spread, Islam practicing jihad and causing all sorts of economic and societal unsuitability, especially in Europe, you need to cry out the Lord like the prophet Hosea and say, "O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in WRATH remember MERCY."
If the shakings of this world are not driving you to your knees right now in intercession for your family, church and nation, you will likely get swept away in the Great Deception that will soon take place. Make sure you are right with God. Make sure your family is truly serving the Lord. Get your house in order, because things are likely going to get much worse.

Why is France gone?
Some 450 years ago in 1572, the Roman Catholic church during the St. Bartholomew Day’s Massacre brutally murdered tens of thousands of Huguenot Christians. These were French Protestants influenced by John Calvin.
Estimates had the Huguenot population at around 2 million in 1572, roughly 10% of France. After the intense persecution by Rome, the number dropped dramatically. 1685 was the final "nail in the coffin" for the Huguenot church and believers. Louis XIV’s Edict of Fontainebleau outlawed Protestant worship, destroyed churches, and ordered forced conversions.
Since this transpired, France has been a nation of turmoil. From the French Revolution of 1789, to the rise of Napoleon, rise of secularism, to nominal Catholicism, France is ripped to be the first Islamic dominated European nation in the coming decades.
Just study the history of Roman Catholicism. In virtually every country where they persecuted true believers, these counties became socialist hellholes or extremely secular. France today, is the rotted fruit of Rome's rule...
