Ronaldo said he would tell the truth in due time.
Four days later, the only thing he has added is a like.
Felipe Melo's post said Portugal's players don't treat Ronaldo the way Argentina treats Messi, and that none of them come close to him.
Ronaldo liked it.
That is a statement about his own teammates, made in a way he can walk back tomorrow. No interview. No quote. Nothing anyone can hold him to.
In 2022 he did the opposite. He sat down with Piers Morgan and said it out loud. He was gone five weeks later.
He learned something from that. Just not the thing we hoped.
