In a conference meeting at my office, a woman kept tapping me before going to the bathroom and I didn’t know what she wanted.
More than once.
More than twice.
Every time the finance director changed a slide.
She sat on my left.
A new hire.
Name tag still crooked.
She would touch my sleeve twice.
Then stand.
Then leave.
The first time I thought she wanted the aisle.
The second time I thought she was nervous.
The third time the director said, “As this team already approved.”
She tapped me three times.
Then she was gone.
I looked at the slide.
My name was on it.
I had not approved anything.
When she came back she did not look at me.
She only set her phone face down and folded her hands…
