Here's a video for all the would-be R2 owners with furry friends. How does the Rivian R2 perform with pets? piped.video/ewrnMBk6TVw?is=HPqN…

The @Rivian R2 10-80% charge curve 30 min, but I had to charger swap, should be closer to 28 min I suspect. The charger went wonky with me, Maybe a grid supply problem? Comment your thoughts. Solid curve over all, very similar to my 2019 Model 3 LR AWD x-80% time

PS, I should point out my Kia EV6 does this same in 18 min, or 36% less time ;) This is ideal to me, but 28 min is acceptable. My Blazer was more like 40 min after first charge of day.

I should also point out they are working pretty late. It was dark. This test was done on 9/12 and I picked it up 9/19 :) My unit had 20 miles on it on delivery day, more than expected, so it makes me think it had a bit of rework and retest. Maybe why gear guard shows this?
Did anyone else's R2 come with a gear guard event of their factory test track drive? Too bad it is only 2 minutes. Acceleration test, pavement tests (offset, high frequency, noise/echo wall test, concrete joints, etc)

I am running the R2 on my ”epa" efficiency loop tomorrow. Blazer EV was 27 kWh or 3 mi/kWh. Model 3 was 23 kWh, 3.6 mi/kWh, EV6 was 25 kWh or 3.3 mi/kWh. 82 mile test. Plug power is by far the best way to measure efficiency as the car trip computer can lie, but need low idle time.
Blazer EV efficiency cold weather. What do you think it will get in my "EPA" test loop A/B? ~82 miles with 48 mph average (0-72 mph range). In nice weather, it did 3.2 mi/kWh. A: 10⁰F, just charged to 100%, preheated on charger B: ~ -5⁰F, 100% cold soak for 6 hrs, no preheat

Sadly, no more frunk puppy now that we have an EV with a frunk. What's up with that @28delayslater? I love the Rivian R2. I used it for my sweaty yoga gear this morning, what do you stick in your frunk?

Car wash time for the R2 and CYBRTRK. Haven't been washed in ages and the rain finally stopped.

EVs from Ford, GM, Hyundai, etc are down because they slashed production of those vehicles. New tariffs and loss of tax credit made them inviable. Tesla, with US made vehicles, battery cells, and supply chain avoided much of the cost increases on the most expensive components.
Replying to @brandenflasch
Not for all automakers thanks to some cancellations and poor software. Ford is down 80% and Hyundai is down 57% in EV sales YoY. Ford needs the Fathom to launch on time. Their Q3 sales are abysmal and last year was already weak for them. 80% drop YoY in Q3 and that's not just because the Lightning was cancelled. LMR. This is the EV battery chemistry to watch. Vying to be better energy density than LFP but still low cost. Tesla uses high energy density cells that are cheap but they don't charge fast. LFP is lower energy density, but is cheap and charges very fast. I am hoping for some balance with LMR between energy density and charging speed that is still low cost. Just another day at the gym. Skies finally cleared and it looks like it should be sunny. To give you an idea of how rainy it has been, solar output was down over 33% this past month vs the year before. This tends to average out over the year.

I love to see Tesla still adding features to existing cars. To me, statistically this is a non issue, but it offers peace of mind for drivers and that is what matters. I wish more companies would do this.

For vehicles I have driven 70,000 miles, what are the most reliable? 2010 Nissan Quest 10-80k (nothing but maintenance) 2004 Mazda 3 0-70k (nothing really, zoom zoom) Hard to sort the last 4, pretty comparable: 2007 Kia Rondo 0-70k, (incompetent/shady dealer) 2019 Tesla Model 3 0-75k (suspension and fit finish issues, harness recall) 2022 Kia EV6 0-70k, ICCU failure (left wife on side of road) 2018 Honda Clarity, 0-80k (several recalls and heating and cooling issues, but never broke down, just annoying) Family vehicles that I bought new or near new. I have owned many higher mileage vehicles. I personally don't drive vehicles very long usually. I usually put about 30k miles on. All of the above except the 3 were my wife's, why they hit 70k, the 3 was first car I have driven that long :)

I should point out, I only changed the Quest oil ~5x, once a year. I bought used in 2012 and traded for Clarity late 2017 :) I used full synthetic and did a few oil analyses on it, no issue.

We have had the EV6 for 4.5 years and over 70,000 miles. Maintenance costs? Two cabin air filters that take 2 min to change (do it yourself). Factory tires still, but I also run winter tires. Repair costs? None* ICCU failed and 2 12 V, reimbursed by Kia. EVs are the best!

Equinox EV sales plummeted over 92% with additional EV tariffs on components and removal of the federal tax credit. These vehicles (as is) were essentially made non viable. It would be like adding a tariff to imported oil.

It isn't complicated: it means BMW is serious about the i3. They didn't make it look like my old i3 (a weird electric car). This is also why the same platform iX3 is selling so well.
BMW just revealed the new 3 Series. What’s odd is that the EV and gas versions share almost the same exterior despite having different platforms. There are small differences in the measurements, but it’s still a weird choice to give both the same look imo.

I think this, or later M3(?) variant would convince me to buy another sedan.
The BMW i3 officially launched in the US! i3 50 xDrive: - $61,500 MSRP - 468 mi EPA range - 463 hp, dual-motor AWD - 400 kW DC fast charging (up to 208 mi in 10 min) - Shares its Gen6 battery tech and platform with the iX3 - i3 M60 announced for 2027 - i3 40 xDrive gets an 82,8 kWh pack and 300 kW charging.
