This is something the public needs to understand properly. C40 Cities is not some meaningless talking shop. Sadiq Khan is its co-chair, Bloomberg Philanthropies is one of its major funders, and Greater Manchester has signed C40 transport commitments covering zero-emission areas, buses, walking, cycling and reducing reliance on polluting vehicles. At the same time, more powers are being devolved to regional mayors in England. The 2026 devolution legislation gives strategic authorities and mayors significant functions, including in transport. Whatever your view on Net Zero, major changes affecting how people travel and use their cars should be completely transparent and subject to proper democratic scrutiny. Russian attack drones conducted a major incursion into Moldova this morning, with local authorities reporting at least 5 separate airspace breaches. Explosions and drone fragments were found in several Moldovan towns, with multiple reports of damage on the ground.
