Excited to share that I’m now Head of Design at @0xMiden It’s been an incredible journey building our design function from the ground up. We’ve got some exciting things launching soon, and I can’t wait to share them. PS - We’re also hiring a Visual/Brand Designer. Plenty of opportunities where AI can be more useful in the real world than personal assistants and booking flights

Advertisements as art
1993 Canon New Belpia photocopier ad with Baby Godzilla, roughly translating to “Even if it’s small, it’s a Godzilla” and “It is born”.

Ethereum has cast call: dry-run a contract call without sending a tx. @0xMiden now has miden call from @walnut_dev. Same job — run a procedure, see what it returns — plus the Miden-shaped extras: notes, storage maps, vault diffs. Runs on your laptop. Nothing hits the network. First brick of Foundry-like tooling, not the whole toolkit. walnut.dev/blog/introducing-…

Great chat about how @0xMiden is positioned to leverage the crossroads of AI and blockchain
Miden co-founder @azeemk argues the answer to rogue AI transactions may be simple: don’t ask the agent to behave, make the forbidden transaction impossible. "We ended up creating a solution to our own problem, which we call Guardian. You can think of it like a two-of-three multisig, where you have a hot wallet, a cold wallet key that's stored, and then you can have a third guardian that would be a signer." "As we started building out, we started seeing, wait, you can actually put an AI in here and give the AI parameters it needs to follow." "The human would be able to enable guardrails into Miden Guardian, and then have it do the things it wants while being comfortable knowing you can't somehow convince the agent to send $300,000 to someone." "But if you could encode that it literally can't, that's fascinating." @0xMiden

Beautiful sentiment that applies to all creative fields
Masahiro Sakurai says originality in video games doesn’t always lead to sales but an industry without originality will die a slow death. “I am going to say something pretty harsh, but originality doesn’t really have much of an impact on sales. I actually think it ranks pretty low on the priority list. Everyone likely feels the same way, right? For example, with convenience store drinks, there probably aren't many people who go out and try every single new drink that comes out. The more accustomed people become to something, the closer it gets towards being a standard, or rather, I think people tend to want a taste that matches their preferences and meets their expectations. However, an industry that loses its originality will ultimately just die a slow death. I believe the industry exists today because of the people who pioneered new inventions and created new forms of enjoyment. The Game Designers Award” will come to an end, but I hope you will continue to look out for novelty, originality, and the unique qualities that set a game apart. Thank you very much for everything.”
