The vertigo is not as bad today, will venture out for a trip and see how I get on.

Yesterday I came down with sudden dibilitating vertigo. Slept most of the day. Been taking Stugeron, but still dizzy every time I move my head. 😵‍💫

Following reports of Matt's role change at Automattic, I want to assure you that WordPress leadership and direction remain unchanged. Matt continues to lead our project, and I remain Executive Director. I'm grateful to everyone making this possible as we keep building together.

I really need some great sysadmin and security researchers to hire really quick, no one from @automattic! I'm on the board there and fully support Mark Davies in his interim CEO role. But I think it's probably good if I move some of my stuff currently hosted there, elsewhere.

Google rolled out a Spam Update on August 18. The update was global, all countries, all languages, completed in 3 days. And it completely hammered one of my websites! What about yours? Have you checked?

Sitting in Morrisons cafe while wife shops. TailScale and Termux on the phone, Claude coding away on my home desktop. Science fiction.

Did you know bingbot requests /?s= (empty search) and with a big Revelansi index that is a massive performance hit. I could have never found this and other random performance issues without AI assistance.

Quick PayPal Payments has been given a make over. Rated number 7 PayPal payment plugin by WP Beginner, here is hoping teh revamp will move it to number 6 - "super easy to use" now it is even easier! fullworksplugins.com/2026/08…

Quick PayPal Payments 6.0: card payments, and a plugin you can find things in | Fullworks Plugins

Version 6.0 is the largest piece of work this plugin has had in years. Some of it is new, a good deal of it is things that were quietly wrong and are now right, and the rest is the settings area…

I just let Claude Code with --chrome loose on one of my plugins and bet it that it could find 10 bugs - its trying - I expect it will succeed.

I have some free WordPress plugins that I no longer have time to support and will sell. If you are a reputable plugin developer and interested let me know.

With 7.1 and the chore of testing a dozen free niche plugins - again - for no thanks or no money. I was just wondering what to do?

I wondered if I put a 'donations' banner in the plugin that explicit stated donations since last release and a target that if achieved would permit updating for the next release and a minimum which if not achieved would = plugin abandoned, might work.

I had an enjoyable afternoon removing @github as a dependency to my builds.
