Obviously not THE moment from Schmitt-Smith yesterday, but it was interesting to watch Schmitt chide Smith for "losing" the McDonnell case; as Smith said, he won, and then McDonnell convinced SCOTUS to make it almost prohibitively hard to convict electeds for taking bribes.
I mean, I’ll go ahead and point out that the reason federal bribery cases are so hard to get to a conviction is because of a former Republican governor of Virginia! Bob McDonnell laid the groundwork for Trayon White’s defense.
