Thinking about the measure of potential entropy in code bases. What do I mean by potential entropy? Current working definition is how likely the next code change is to reduce coherence and increase emergence. Agents tend to amplify entropy where entropy already exists.

"No one on my teams writes code anymore" is no longer a useful differentiator. The real question is: does anyone on your team _read_ code anymore?

Some fun detail shots of a fully parametric vector drawing I did in about 10min. Along with a procedurally generated pencil on canvas brush.

Early innings still, but I love how easy it is to use the Zoah MCP server to generate initial ideas for typography, color palettes, and branding. Then have my agent translate to a design system with components, and use those comps to build and deploy a website, all in Zoah!

Design your own brushes. Use and share them. This is not like other vector tools. Nothing comes close!
Brand designers are not ready for this...

One of my favorite talks at @valiocon this year by @WesleyBancroft Stopping and thinking about work as an offering to others is a refreshing perspective. It's like a flash of lightning in a dark sea of AI abyssdoomaxxing. May your work be of benefit and a gift to others.
A handful of slides from the talk that I gave at @valiocon Gathering my thoughts from the conference and the amazing people I met while there (was only able to attend the last day unfortunately). Thanks again @drewwilson for the invite and everyone who made it a success!

What an amazing response to @brdrck vector system! What’s not shared easily in a demo is the hard work Jeff has invested into also making this system fast and performant. Stellar work all around 👏👏👏
Wow! @brdrck’s vector demo got a standing ovation @valiocon! Absolutely incredible!

Love this. I paraphrase as ownership is to own the thinking of all aspects of a problem and its solution, from the execution to delivery, communication, and future maintenance. Ownership is a tall glass of water that is easy to underestimate!
Some thoughts on ownership I shared with the team this morning

Yep, and I think a good heuristic for producing less code is de-conditionalizing code. An easy tell for AI generated code is the wild conditional expressions littered throughout multiple layers of abstraction. LLM’s aren’t very good at “Imperative shell, functional core.”
Starting to wonder if the smartest way to reduce slop is just to produce less code Force code review to continually reduce code while ALSO keeping cyclomatic complexity low Less code means less code to maintain, fewer bugs
