Today we're thrilled to announce that our interim CEO Toni Schneider will be stepping into the role permanently.
“The appetite for social experiences on the internet is vast, far broader than the handful of apps the major platforms offer today," said @tonidotorg. "I believe the Atmosphere will grow to hundreds of millions of users, hundreds of thousands of apps and communities, and many thousands of thriving businesses, and I want to help make that happen.”

We keep on shipping. v1.122 is out, featuring a better way to discover and share articles, blog posts and newsletters across the Atmosphere via new, dynamic Standard.site link cards. The build also allows everyone to go live on @youtube, @substack or @beehiiv, a new split view in the chat UI, a rebuilt GIF picker, refreshed photo viewer, and expanded moderation labels.
ALT The Bluesky and Standard.site logos sharing an emoji handshake above examples of the new, dynamic link cards.

The link penalty is real. Publishers are realizing that, on X, their posts don't drive traffic. On Bluesky, followers see everything you post - links and all
FYI: We're now omitting links in @Techmeme tweets. Why?
1. Links limit reach (see embedded study)
2. The cost for posting links using X's API increased today by 1900%.
Links may return later, but we're still exploring how we might accomplish that.
