I almost quit
@GenLayer on day one. 😅
My first action was depositing funds on mainnet to meet the minimum needed to request GEN test tokens, then deploying my first contract.
After that, I disappeared. In my head I was like, "This one na for builders only, abeg, no be for me." I thought if you can't code deep, there's no seat for you here.
Then I joined an X Space and met Damilola
@Techie_Dammy . She broke down how GenLayer works in a way that finally made sense, and she told me something that changed everything: "E no be for builders alone o. If you get idea, you fit write, or you dey creative, you get place for GenLayer."
That one line pulled me back.
So I returned, started creating content in my own small way, and became part of the community. Nobody forced me. I just found my lane.
What I learned: the first step is not the hardest part. Staying because you think you don't belong is. GenLayer is open to creators, writers, thinkers and builders, and everybody that has something to bring.
Now the testnet feels like fun to me, and honestly I want it to keep running. 😂
If you've been sitting on the sideline thinking it's not for you, try one small thing: open the Portal, request test tokens, or join a community event on Discord. You might surprise yourself.
I am tagging all my homies to join me on genLayer, trust me you wouldn't regret it
