two days ago, i had one of those random moments where you just stop and think.😭 i was going about my day, looking at things and thinking, “oh my God, i don’t have this yet.” “i really want this.” “i need that.” then it hit me. two or three years ago, if i had everything i have right now, i would have been so happy. i would have been genuinely overjoyed. a lot of what i have today are things i used to pray for, wish for and hope i’d have someday. but somewhere along the way, in the pursuit of wanting more, i forgot to look at what i already have. and i think that’s one thing about us. we’re grateful, but we’re also always reaching for the next thing. so sometimes, we don’t realise that we’re already standing in places we once prayed to reach. i’m still not where i want to be, but i’m nowhere near where i used to be. not at all. since that thought hit me, i’ve been trying to practise gratitude more intentionally. because how could i forget? how could i look at all of this and only think about what’s missing? so yeah, this is just a little reminder to myself, and maybe to someone else too: look around sometimes. you might be living in an answered prayer you once thought was so far away.🩶
