I'm joining Omarchy!

Today is my first day as Head of Infrastructure for Omarchy, joining @DHH and the rest of the amazing team around it! Here’s the longer story that I wanted to share. It's longer, because it's more

Just 24 hours after I launched tryomarchy.dev, people from over 100 countries have booted a real @OmarchyLinux desktop! 1200+ machines and counting :-) (Total bill: less than 10$. Thanks @Cloudflare )

@OmarchyLinux is pretty cool. Why not try it out in a few seconds, right in your browser, running entirely on Cloudflare? Yes, for real: your own isolated, real Omarchy machine in seconds 😄 tryomarchy.dev cc @dhh @eastdakota

So when someone asks “what is Omarchy?” just send them a link, have them play around with it. This has been ridiculous to build, and Cloudflare’s infra made it way too much fun. @CloudflareDev

Bonus: kids wanted cartoons in our car. Unfortunately, we’re watching Omarchy boot from Cloudflare today...episode "the Live CD has gone slightly off the rails" 😅

Overall, no build servers to operate. The entire hosted service is Cloudflare: - Workers for API/UI - Containers for compilation - Durable Objects for coordination/state - R2 for sources, artifacts + cache Work arrives, machine appears, Linux builds, useful state persists, we boot the freshly built kernel for verification, and machine disappears.

Converting an ugly low-level problem into a boring interface. And building on @Cloudflare is fun.

Being early is expensive. You have to educate the market, explain the problem, and convince people they should care. Sometimes the hardest part of building a great product is waiting for the market to catch up.

Isorun launched just over a week ago, and today we're partnering with @TigrisData to bring persistence to Isorun agentic runtime. Isorun gives AI agents fast, hardware-isolated runtime for running AI generated code in isolation; Tigris gives them durable, forkable disks.
