Since July 2025, ECF has shipped 8 products. We did it without the token launches or roadmap theatre. If the question is what the ECF has actually done since inception at EthCC Cannes, here is the answer. 🧵

EIP-8363 received more signals than any proposal in EVA Hub history. 46 signals representing roughly 164,000 staked ETH. 97% of that stake signalled No.
📋Withdrawing EIP-8363 from consideration for Hegotá. EIP-8363 rapidly became one of the most commented-on EIPs in the history of the Ethereum-Magicians forum, with 200+ comments in a few weeks. As we progressed through the Hegotà CFI (Consideration For Inclusion) process, several parties in the industry as well as core protocol and client contributors voiced that a fork scoping exercise was not the right venue to settle an issuance policy change. We agree and we'd rather acknowledge this now than carry on towards Hegotà in this context. The topic is too important and raised too many concerns that it deserves its own process. We commit to giving issuance its own process and we thank the entities such as @LidoFinance who offered to help steer such an initiative. We stand by the motivation of this EIP, in particular: “a very high staking ratio is undesirable for two distinct reasons (...), preserving Ethereum’s security, neutrality and resistance to capture, and protecting ETH’s role as money.” Not everybody immediately relates to both reasons and for others recognizing just one of these reasons is enough to justify a change. Nevertheless, we will all benefit from improving our understanding of the issue and what is at stake. The questions we have faced since we published EIP-8363 can be boiled down to 5 categories: ➡️Security: What does a lower ratio actually secure versus a higher ratio? ➡️Industry impact: What else is built on the yield and what will be the impact ? ➡️Curve specs and alternate tools: Is this curve even the right instrument? ➡️Composition: Who is left staking (the effect on the composition of the validator set) ? ➡️Decentralization: How will solo stakers be impacted by the reduction? We already argued a lot, conceded some and adjusted a few points in the very long Ethereum-Magicians thread mentioned supra. For a broader consensus to emerge and a better issuance policy for Ethereum to be designed and adopted, we need a dedicated process. We call for all willing hands to help and contribute to this, please do reach out. Here’s our start at what a multi-node process would look like (table attached). Onward and forward, let’s improve Ethereum.

Today the EF and OA announce zkAPI—a new means for private AI Picture this: deposit ether into a vault, sign a zk proof, get a fixed amount of private inference. Advances like these help us move past middlemen's requirements that we link our data and identities. Read more below
Quick updates on the Open Anonymity project (@OpenAnonProject)! 1. OA-chat is live! You can now signup: chat.openanonymity.ai 2. We collaborated with @ethereumfndn (@VitalikButerin, @DavideCrapis, @VittoStack, @curryrasul) to develop zkAPI, a new zero-knowledge protocol for accessing gated / paid APIs with unlinkability. It’s like a generalization of OA unlinkable inference that also abstracts payments away. Now also available on OA-chat! I'm excited because more infrastructure should exist where privacy and sovereignty is foundational and people are in control.

Update: One step closer to a faster Ethereum L1. Quick slots just moved to Considered for Inclusion (CFI) in today's All Core Devs call! This is a new milestone for our proposal to make Ethereum blocks faster 🎉 Btw.. Faster blocks => - Better UX - Better markets - Faster finality and fast confirmation rule - And improved censorship-resistance too! TLDR: More value for the network, its users, and ETH, without compromising on the core values and properties of Ethereum. Hear this from 20 top Ethereum teams in our ecosystem survey: ethlabs.org/writings/quick-s… --- Ok, what does CFI mean? This does not mean that the EIP is for sure included in Hegotá. This means that now it will be considered more seriously, including testing, towards inclusion in future devnets once headliners (FOCIL and frame transactions) are stable. In particular, the call today revealed the appetite for a phased approach, installing the plumbing which allows us to reduce the slot time in Ethereum clients, and deciding to pull the trigger based on further testing. Ultimately, this is how EIP-8198 is designed, so CFI'ing today allows us to move forward with more of the plumbing work, and start looking into testing towards an actual slot reduction from 12 to 10 seconds. This is a first reduction, as EIP-8198 opens the door for progressively lower slot times, as they get sufficiently safe to ship. In parallel, as discussed on the call too, we are continuing our ecosystem survey and outreach of deployed smart contracts with a slot time dependency. We have reached out to more teams on this. --- Faster slots are one important dimension of our Faster Ethereum body of work. A more responsive network helps cement its role as a liquidity hub and as the heartbeat of the network as a whole. Along with our work on fast finality, fast confirmation rule and fast interop, it all combines for a seamless and secure flow of assets everywhere on the network. Thank you to the many builders who are taking us there!

Glamsterdam reaches Sepolia on October 6. Here’s how you can help test Ethereum’s next upgrade before it reaches mainnet. Try it yourself Get test ETH from a Sepolia faucet. After the upgrade, try apps on Sepolia, send transactions and report unexpected failures to the relevant team. Test what you’re building After activation, check your contracts, wallet integrations and gas estimates against the new rules. Pay particular attention to hardcoded gas limits. Update your Sepolia node Upgrade both your execution and consensus clients before October 6 at 13:53 UTC. Validator operators should also update their validator client. Testing now helps catch problems before they affect mainnet users.

It's OVER. The SEC and CFTC are done waiting for the CLARITY Act. Regulators have now made at least 9 moves to build crypto rules without Congress. 1. SEC Crypto Task Force - define what is and is not a security 2. Project Crypto - modernize SEC rules for onchain markets 3. SEC-CFTC crypto guidance - classify crypto assets into clearer categories 4. SEC-CFTC harmonization MOU - reduce overlap between the two agencies 5. Joint Harmonization Initiative - create shared rules for crypto firms 6. CFTC Innovation Task Force -speed up crypto and blockchain market rules. 7. CFTC crypto FAQs - clarify how registered firms can use blockchain 8. SEC Innovation Exemption - allow tokenized US stocks to trade onchain 9. CFTC proposed crypto market rule - create a formal framework for crypto asset markets Crypto may now move forward without CLARITY Act.
