NEW: Greens for Palestine has issued its activists with a warning ahead of Green conference this weekend: do not get physical with “Zionist/pro-Israel pickets”, “gender-critical” protesters or hostile media. The private guidance tells supporters not to block people, grab their equipment, retaliate, touch them or “physically intervene”, and warns they may be secretly recorded. The message comes ahead of the party’s conference debate on the “Zionism is Racism” motion.

Speaking as the elderly mother of three youngsters, who hasn’t had a sex change and knows many homosexuals, it is my able-bodied and sexually-preferred opinion that the Greens are turning into total nutters.

Am Yisrael Chai
This man is a hero. Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit. Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers. Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives. Indian. Israeli. Emirati. Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪 We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

This week's @spectator column after Labour conference: 🚬 Half a dozen cabinet ministers referenced Wilson, his rhetoric and achievements. The four-time election winner was the dominant figure of the pre-Thatcher age; Burnham shows a similar appreciation for both Labour values and Labour interests. 🚢 Shabana Mahmood christened ‘Subana’ by colleagues, amid ILR row. Some ministerial uneasiness over Burnham EU comments. 'The Midlands’ sparkies are the new Durham miners,’ says a sceptical figure. 📈 Kanishka Narayan, who did 70 events, emerges as a conference star. ‘The Labour right’s future is Kanishka,’ remarks an ex-Streeting backer. 🥇 Labour increasingly confident of victory in Holborn and St Pancras. 'Next Thursday we pop his bubble,' one MP says of Zack Polanski. spectator.com/article/harold…

EXCL: The Green party has produced an Orwellian glossary of ‘unacceptable’ language ahead of its conference this weekend. Its new ‘Inclusive Terminology Guidance’ instructs members to stop using words and phrases including ‘elderly’, ‘female politician’ and ‘mothers and fathers’. Also discouraged are ‘able-bodied’, ‘sex-change’, ‘homosexual’, ‘a nutter’, ‘youngster’ and ‘sexual preference’. The guidance recommends replacing ‘gendered job titles’ with ‘gender-neutral terms wherever possible’. Members should say ‘chair’ instead of ‘chairman’, ‘police officer’ instead of ‘policeman’ and ‘parents and carers’ rather than mothers and fathers.

A section is also devoted to what members should do if they inadvertently commit a linguistic transgression. In a relief to those who may struggle to navigate the party’s lexicon, the guidance reassures them that ‘it’s okay to make mistakes from time to time’ – provided they are trying. Those who fail to use the sanctioned language are advised to apologise, thank whoever pointed out their error and ‘adjust your language moving forward’.

Many Tory MPs I speak to privately acknowledge the triple lock is an unsustainable and ridiculous policy that needs to be binned. I can see why this is an easy battle line to be drawn with the pensioner vote being so lucrative - but it's grim that this is being done at the potential expense of maintaining indefensible intergenerational unfairness
Andy Burnham wants to scrap the triple lock. Sign the petition to help us stop him 👇 ProtectPensioners.com
Community note
Labour are not cutting pensions, they are reforming the triple lock. Pensions will still rise every year, either at 2.5% or in line with inflation. Whichever is higher. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

If the Conservatives wanted to match Burnham's energy from a right-wing perspective, they should be making the case for reforming welfare AND getting rid of the triple lock as part of the route to a stronger economy!!!

EXCL: The ‘far-left and Islamist’ organisation Friends of al-Aqsa lavished praise on Ed Miliband on the sidelines of Labour conference today. The group was banned at the last minute from officially hosting an event on Gaza at the annual socialist jamboree – but simply pressed ahead with a panel near the conference venue anyway.

EXCL: A Labour PPS has signalled support for Britain paying billions in reparations to developing countries whose citizens come to work in the NHS. Dr Beccy Cooper told a Labour conference fringe event that G20 states should ‘continue’ discussions on an agreement requiring wealthy countries that recruit foreign-trained health workers to invest proportionately in the health systems and workforces of the nations from which they recruit. According to a March 2026 report by the APPG on Global Health and Security, recruiting workers from overseas has saved the NHS approximately £14 billion in domestic training costs.

EXCL: Ministers are being lobbied by the chief executive of a major British business to solve the NEETs crisis – by imposing a four-day week on top earners. The high-flying boss, who has close links to the Labour party, is convinced that forcing the best-paid employees to work fewer days could be the silver bullet for moving the one million youngsters not in employment, education or training into the jobs market.
