I have been away but here’s a demo of increased render distance progress. Still trying to optimize it, not happy just yet but its looking great!
With everyone combining different games and mixing/matching them i set out to try something a bit more niche. Whats the FPS ceiling on minecraft for mac? The answer? ~1024 median fps at full native 5k res on my Apple Studio Display. I compared this to 20 of the top Minecraft performance mods and my singular perf mod is 8x faster at 0 quality cuts. Default settings.

Also cc @Shedletsky. Hitting that concurrency limit for sure. Might have a fun idea to try to get around it though

Small update on this. Gave it to a few friends to see how it works and perf gains still remain very much so. Going to look into open sourcing Saturday ish so folks can see how it works. Truly did not expect so many people to see this.

There is no way a community note is needed on this post. I am simply toying around with technology and trying things out. This has not been published and is an internal demo. This note does not provide critical knowledge as it is simply showcasing what is possible

This is absurd. Genuinely absurd. I absolutely love that AI might finally make mac gaming a feasible undergoing.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now on GameToMac. 70–80 fps on Apple Silicon. Which game should I add next?

This is extremely promising and would be a lifesaver in smart removal for photography. Loving the progression i’m seeing of image models on the TL today.
for those that don't grasp how crazy this is GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst vs Ideogram 4.5 and by the way it's likely just simple masking/in-painting but it still surprises me it's not the default for the majority of image editing models. you can tell it's in-painting because you can see the bush around my shoulder slowly turn into a line. it's the same reason my tattoos fade on why side of my arm (the closest to my t-shirt). no excuse for chopping of half of my head though. I'm going to have to try a workflow where I use this on every frame of a video.

This is very very interesting to see. I however call benchmaxxing to an extent here. Unless its a brand new pretrain that isnt doing the whole spiral of doom and despair. Time will tell! Welcome to the table Google, your number is next.

Jace and I made a new app to handle audio processing, routing, and control on MacOS. This app uses 18mb of ram, 0.5% cpu, and barely any impact on energy drain. By definition this is the most efficient and performant audio control app to exist for MacOS.

New on Noahbench ™ GPT 6.1 Sol comes in 1st on the benches. HOWEVER, i will not be switching to this even though its high on benches. Heres why: Theres a concept I've been toying with behind "talent" and "smart". Its an odd one but it can be simply understood as "talent is the ability to mechanically perform", "smart is the ability to mechanically perform and understand *why* something is being done". I think that 6.1 sol is a wonderful refinement on top of 6, however it has not increased its base smarts. Talented models are the absolute perfect workhorses though, these models are the ones who are cheap to run, can do something when the thinking is done for them, and accomplish the goals. I am pleased with the release but will not be defaulting to it. Hats off openai!
