Meanwhile, some very bright minds are searching for ways to lift sanctions and put more money back into russia’s war machine. The timing is obscene.

A Russian strike against the building of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. A rescue operation is underway: crews are putting out the fire and searching for people who may have been trapped inside. All services are deployed. Today in Kyiv, a pharmaceutical company and gas stations were also attacked; in Dnipro, a business center; and in other cities and regions, civilian facilities, businesses, and communications infrastructure were targeted as well. Sadly, people have been killed… My condolences to their families and loved ones. Russia will definitely face a response to this. And every one of Ukraine’s partners must see from this terror, from these strikes, that supporting Ukraine means truly supporting people’s lives – supporting the principle that terror must never be normalized, anywhere. Russia must be held accountable for all of this and face real consequences. I thank everyone who helps Ukraine!

Nothing says “fighting NATO expansion” quite like bombing a historic building of Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences in central Kyiv, forcing ordinary scientists to jump from windows to escape death in the fire. This has been done by fascist barbarians stripped of the last remnants of reason and conscience by impunity and endless appeasement, obsessed with senseless violence, destruction, and atrocities.

Today alone, and in Kyiv alone, Russian jet-powered drones “vanquished” two kindergartens and two schools, an ordinary residential building, an auto repair shop, several warehouses, and communications facilities. Anywhere in the world, this choice of targets would be called by one word – terrorism. Russia has no military objective whatsoever in doing this – it is purely an attempt to break people and inflict as much harm as possible on our society. Tragically, there are people killed… My condolences to their families and loved ones. Dozens of people were injured. Overall, since yesterday, the Russians have used 277 attack drones of various types, 155 of them jet-powered. Among the damaged sites is also a building used as the residence of the Saudi Arabian Ambassador. In the Dnipro region, a sports school is among the damaged facilities. In the Sumy region, the building of a regional children’s home was damaged. If Russia were truly preparing for any real steps toward de-escalation – as it claims, particularly to American negotiators – this wave of “shahed” terror would not be happening. And we need to take a sober view of the situation. Russia knows how to send the kind of encouraging diplomatic signals that the world simply wants to hear… It knows how to send such signals in order to delay tough steps by the world in response to the war. In America, the important Lindsey Graham sanctions and tariffs law has already reached the implementation stage. It is a law that can change a lot for the better if fully implemented. This law needs to be implemented – and everyone in the world can see that there is EVERY REASON to apply it and A CLEAR PURPOSE for doing so. We are counting on effective decisions from the world and stronger pressure from our partners, so that Russia sees that manipulating diplomatic signals will not allow it to keep winning more and more time for war and terror. It is important that our other partners in the G7 and G20 also take a principled stance. New sanctions packages are being prepared – specifically targeting financial networks, supply chains for components and equipment used in the production of Russian weapons, and specific companies and individuals primarily involved in the production of Russian ballistic missiles. The new sanctions must take effect as early as October to provide a stronger foundation for changing the situation and pushing Russia toward real diplomacy. Thank you to everyone who helps Ukraine! L'ONU et les médias internationaux documentent les détentions, la torture, les violences sexuelles, les déportations, la citoyenneté russe imposée par la contrainte, la répression de l'identité ukrainienne, l'endoctrinement des enfants, une balle dans la tête pour un mot en ukrainien… En septembre encore, l'ONU décrivait un système de violences sexuelles utilisées comme instruments de torture et de coercition. À Olechky, dans ma région de Kherson, des milliers de civils vivent sous occupation dans une situation désespérée. La nourriture, les médicaments sont inaccessibles, l’évacuation est impossible. Pendant ce temps, la Russie continue de bombarder l'Ukraine. Du 1er au 24 septembre, au moins 200 civils tués et 1 234 blessés par les attaques russes. Cette nuit encore, un enfant. Et face à cette réalité, votre problème politique reste la résistance ukrainienne. C'est précisément là que votre prétendu anti-impérialisme devient indéfendable. Les liens passés de l'extrême droite française avec la Russie sont largement documentés. Elle ne me surprend plus. Ce qui me sidère, c'est de voir ceux qui se disent anti-impérialistes reprendre une logique où la paix se construit en limitant la résistance de l'agressé plutôt qu'en mettant fin à l'agression. J'entends, en russe, depuis Moscou, l'exigence que l'Ukraine capitule. Et maintenant j'entends, en français, depuis Paris, votre « proposition » de paix. Les mots diffèrent. Le sens, non. Vous pouvez appeler cela « paix », « diplomatie » ou « désescalade ». Mais cessez au moins d'accuser les Ukrainiens, et ceux qui les soutiennent, de « fantasmer la guerre ». Les Ukrainiens n'ont pas besoin de la fantasmer. Ils la vivent. C'est vous qui fantasmez une paix où l'occupation aurait, par miracle, cessé d'être une violence.
