Tonight, I repaired my original SF354 - a single sided 360KB 3.5" floppy drive for the Atari ST. The failure? the old belt had shredded into 100 pieces. See below with new belt, and.. "Don't Copy That Floppy" to verify it works!

I just finished Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4. I really liked the show at the beginning, but this season was pretty rough. (Too many gimmick eps) Must Watch: Ep 1, 8 Weak: Ep 6, 10, 4, 2 Strong dislike: Ep 3, 5, 7, 9* *Would have liked this if it had Hemmer..

I have 3 Atari STs operational now! (+ an 800XL and Jaguar). The STs from left to right: 520STE w/4MB (for enhanced joystick port games), Mega STE (for general fun), and the "short" OG 520ST w/2.5MB RAM (for nostalgia and gaming on a standing desk). There is an Amiga 1200 hiding..

Cleaning a very old (mechanical/clicky) keyboard is a lot of work, but also rewarding..

And one more post - I finally decided it was time to get rid of "floppy disk case" keys I had sitting around.. some of these would probably unlock a plastic case made in 1984 that is now in a landfill somewhere..

Just a small retro post. I've had a spare Gotek drive sitting around that wasn't working right, so I finally got it connected to a PC and flashed with FlashFloppy! successfully.

I *highly* recommend the Star Trek (Original Series) set Tour in Ticonderoga, NY: 4 pics can't do this place justice -- they have the full show stage - engineering, medical, officer quarters, the bridge, and more. And the tour guide we had was awesome!! maps.app.goo.gl/wD1z4SrSS4gw…

And for the retro fans - yes, they have the "floppy disk" props too: (+some bonus pics)

TIL - The Atari Mega STE comes factory Overclocked! The CPU installed in my Atari is rated for 12 MHz, but the system runs the CPU at up to 16 MHz (8/16 selectable).

Need a laugh? check out my terrible (but working) soldering job replacing a blown cartridge port fuse "F21" on my Atari Mega STE. (The 0.5A fuse blew because I inserted a cartridge upside down). Pic 1 = original blown fuse. Pic 4 = PCB bottom, before cleanup.

An internal ACSI2STM from @sidecartridge has cleaned up my Atari Mega STE setup nicely! Previously I had an "UltraSatan" external harddrive hanging off the back, with power and data cables. Now I just have an internal solution that supports 3 microSD cards! (Bonus Pic-Noctua Fan)

The first time I used a "Dark Mode" application was the modified DOS "2.6f" for the Atari 800. As a 9 year old, it was my favorite version of (standard) Atari DOS. (Of course I didn't know this was "Dark Mode" until.. 30+ years later :) ).
