If you cant afford to rent a property at 30% of the renter's income you can't afford to be a landlord and should learn to live within your means.

Trying to imply Avi Lewis is Naheed Nenshi's boss as if there is no seperation between the federal and provincial NDP smells pretty desperate and assumes the electorate are not bright enough to know the difference.
🚨BREAKING The federal NDP and Avi Lewis @avilewis just released a statement opposing the new pacific link pipeline and demanding it be halted. They oppose Alberta's Pacific Link pipeline and they will do everything in their power to kill it. Understand what this means... This would kill 140,000 jobs. Stop tens of billions in new wealth for Albertans to build things like hospitals and schools. Lost jobs and lower paycheques for Alberta families. Today I am calling on Naheed Nenshi @nenshi to do what he should have done a long time ago. Cut ties with his boss, Avi Lewis and the federal NDP. Officially, formally, in writing today. A clean break, right down to the name of their party. Not doing so tells Albertans all they need to know about where the NDP stands on Alberta energy… which is “leave it in the ground”.

Thinking they have a "gotcha" by saying look it might not be the initial volume of graves reported. The fact they attach so completely to semantics to claim that nothing bad happened at all IS racist and does cause harm to everyone who's a survivor and a descendant of a survivor.

Demanding to see the exact number of bodies initially claimed isn't seeking truth; it just makes you look like a bigot for ignoring everything else that happened to Indigenous people and inferring that nothing bad happened at all.

This dispute has become an excuse for anti-Indigenous rhetoric. When people use one disputed number to dismiss an entire history of documented harm, that isn't just “seeking truth.” It can become a vehicle for racism and causes additional harm to survivors and descendants.

There is an extreme level of cognitive dissonance in Residential School denialism. Across Canada, not just at Tk'emlups, people were harmed and permanently changed by residential schools and yes people even died, it's been known for generations.

I was surprised people were surprised in 2021. It was known. The fact a entire "political party" in OneBC makes it's identity about "well there were no mass graves" is just watching a group of people crash out and dissociate from the fact harms were caused by residential schools.

My heart goes out to the Lightning family at the loss of Georgina Lightning, a filmmaker that has repeatly broke ground for so many of us in the industry and her shocking loss is a real blow to the community.

If Kerry-Lynne Findlay loses any more MLAs she should start a new party with Dallas Brody and call it TwoBC.

Deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Phillip. Joan was so kind to me, always offering wisdom about family, work, and navigating differences. She reminded me to put people first. That legacy lives on in her decades of human rights and environmental advocacy. Hiy hiy, Joan.

Dolly Parton & Tim Curry one day after another and both at 80. I met Tim once working on a terrible movie in the late 2000's before his stroke and he was a very kind and funny man.

Alberta has had a community good charitable gaming model where non profits and charities can benefit from in person gaming in the province. This gigantic push for online gaming that is pushed everywhere skips that entirely, putting revenue in general coffers and not charities.

Has any checked in on Patty Hajdu today? Round 2 of airline strikes, I wonder how long until she either claims she was unaware of unpaid labour (again) or tries to get the federal government to intervene.

Thousands of Albertans have emailed our political leaders! But there are 5 million of us who stand to lose. Please, be loud: share your concerns online, with representatives, with friends—we can't let our public health care quietly slip away. Act now! friendsofmedicare.org/action…
