Day 22 of scaling a mobile app:
> $1265 MRR 😭
> 155 new installs
> $81 in proceeds
Did some analysis of the organic videos today:
- 45 videos posted on TikTok
- 3.8m views total
- 2 vids/day on average
As expected, the highest viewed video has more views than the 24 lowest viewed videos combined.
The curse of playing these power law games is that it's very demotivating until you finally get a winner.
You need to be able to push through a long period of failure until one attempt makes up for all the losses.
The blessing is that most people give up before finding a winner - which is exactly why there is alpha for you to eat.
Day 21 of scaling a mobile app:
Just hit 100 paying subscribers!
> $1302 MRR
> 179 new installs
> $95 in proceeds
In the distribution-first world of consumer apps it's weirdly easy to forget that reducing churn is often one of the strongest levers to increase MRR.
However, this lever only becomes relevant when you have enough users to see common patterns in user feedback.
The strongest lever changes all the time.
Always ask yourself where leverage is highest.
