1/I just spoke to Ben Osorio, the lawyer on the case, about a key detail: Though Fatima's visa expired, she applied for asylum & was waiting for an answer. Her work permit is valid through Dec '29. This is all customary bc of gov't backlogs, not a choice to stay w/out status.
