🚨 FSU member suspended by Waitrose for Tweeting Conservative views 🚨
Ben Woods, a long-serving Waitrose wine specialist, has been suspended for ‘misconduct’. His crime? Tweeting lawful conservative views.
After snooping on his social media, company bosses compiled a dossier of 30+ posts, including support for Reform UK, calls to tighten border controls, and a Telegraph cartoon poking fun at gender ideology. After 25 years of service,
@benonwine is now fighting for his livelihood.

The FSU has stood by Ben throughout this ordeal. Sadly, he’s one of 260 people we’re assisting right now who are being punished for their opinions.
That’s why we’re backing his legal battle. This is a major test of free speech in employment law and could set an important precedent.
As Ben’s solicitor,
@ElliotHammerSR of Branch Austin McCormick (
@BAMLLP), puts it: “Employees like Ben have rights under the Equality Act 2010 and Article 10 ECHR to manifest lawful beliefs and engage in robust debate about political matters.”
If companies start to think they can get away with policing lawful views outside work, who’s next?
