I haven't kept up with pyscript, but I remember when it was first released it was pretty slow, too slow to replace JS. Has that changed? (No shade either way, just curious at the progress)

It has! PyScript itself is much faster and much smaller. Additionally, you can you use MicroPython instead of Pyodide as Python interpreter and create applications that load in milliseconds
