Annapolis/DC/RVa.
A site called Military Sentinel is taking our original work and slapping a shameless rewrite of our stories with no credit (Like changing two words in the HED). Same photo. When I called the number listed to complain, it connected me to a women's health clinic in Alaska.

There hasn't been much detail on the cost of sustaining more than a dozen ships in CENTCOM in both sacks of money but the wear and tear on ships and how these commitments affect readiness* across the waterfront. Yesterday's discussions at ASNE were refreshingly candid.

*readiness is a term that gets used so much it gets smeary & holding the idea in your head gets hard. We have a profane house definition that helps : "the potential energy to kick ass." The services create readiness (armed ships with trained crews) COCOMS spend it.

The last three West Coast carrier returns from CENTCOM have been all about 30 days or so. If Lincoln is the same, they'll be back late Sept. or early Oct. The Pacific is ruhl big.

I was wrong. Per this year's budget books, the seabed warfare boat is Baltimore (SS(G?)N-812). Please see the attached from this year's J-books.
Replying to @FranticGoat
BTW, the new seabed boat is Atlanta (SS(G?)N-813). We wrote all about it in our newsletter you get for being a member. $45 it's a steal. Here's a taste: mailchi.mp/usni/usni-news-na…

Lincoln has been deployed 274 days. 254 days since its last port call. When Lincoln gets to the West Coast it'll be more than 300 days underway for national tasking. After Ford, that's the 2nd longest deployment since the Vietnam War.
