Vibe coded real world app update: new feature, Google Ads conversions. Now we just create the conversion in the ad account, add the ID and Conversion label in the app admin and it fires the conversion when the lead is submitted. Simple but awesome.

Hey @webflow the amount of Spam on your forms is a joke. Surely this is something you can figure out?

Ahrefs randomly has added social media management features 🤔

Day 5 building a vibe coded app that actually gets used. IT'S LIVE! Installed on a client site and working as expected - now we iron out any bugs as they start popping up. Will be testing GA4 works in the wild, attribution works, emails are actually coming through etc. Next I am going to build webhook functionality to make it more useful, and better stats in the admin dashboard for each client instance.

Day 4 building an app without knowing how to code. Lots of progress made today. Couldn't be bothered writing, so made this video. I got Claude to write a day recap too, its in the next tweet. This tool is getting very close to use on real websites, that will happen next week!

Day 3 of a non dev vibe coding an app that actually gets used. Had a bunch of stuff on so only got a little bit done today:

Pretty simple, it's got the powered by Postclick text in the chat box now that opens our page in a new tab. Adds a UTM code like this with the site it's installed on dynamically updated for utm_content - i'll share how it goes generating leads once it's out in the wild. utm_source=leadstick_widget&utm_medium=powered_by&utm_campaign=widget_footer&utm_content=localhost

Other than that, not much else done today. Login randomly broke after it was working perfectly when i wrapped up work last week. In true vibe coder fashion I had no idea why and had to fuck around resolving that.

Day 2 of a non-developer vibe coding an app that will be used in the real world. Today was all about figuring out how to deploy the same chat widget on multiple client websites, but with each one looking & behaving completely differently. The rest of the day was focused on security (tell me if i've failed here please!).

So is it truly secure? Beats me! Let me know if anything blatantly obvious stands out. The AI is claiming it is secure and we've done our best. I know vibe coded apps are rife with security issues, so I've been trying to handle that with this build. For this little MVP running on just a couple of test sites, it should hopefully be ok. As I keep building we will run more of these audits on the widget code and the dashboard code as we go and try keep on top of it.

Day 3 I think I am going to work on the entire client set-up flow. I'll add new clients, set-up custom questions, install on domains and test the leads are showing up to different email addresses, the GA4 events are firing. Will test that the attribution tracking data is correct for various scenarios too. Other things I want to do: Add webhook integration so the leads can be sent to CRM, Sheets and other places Add analytics for admin on the number of leads generated by the forms across all client sites - submits and phone taps - and basic analytics per client would be good too Maybe will add the device, browser info to the lead email that is submitted, could be handy for people to know Make the chat widget on Desktop more obvious, or maybe have one or two different versions and styles that can be chosen as part of configuration Guess I should probably ask the AI about privacy rules and data collection rules too and make sure it's handling that the right way (we're in Australia so whatever the rules are here).
