WHY IS RETIREMENT PLANNING A BAD IDEA IN YOUR 20s? You are supposed to take risks or do fun things with your savings instead of planning for retirement in your 20s The concept of retirement has been sold to you to pay commissions to investment vehicles operated by boomers & the government You will end up wasting hours to find 2-3% alpha in such vehicles, which is mere ₹20,000 added to your floating net worth in a year The same set of ordinary people will make you believe that buying an iPhone, a MacBook, going on vacation or date is a waste of money These spends eventually play an important role in increasing the surface area of luck and can open a lot of unknown opportunities for you Your friends who consume slow finance porn will show that this amount invested in equities would have made you 5 Crores at the age of 80s You will probably end up on a deathbed before the compounding curve hits the fictional target of freedom This phenomenon makes you believe in slow, linear growth and turns you into someone who always wants to play it safe You are still risking your money when you are investing your money in index funds or paying fees to fund managers The hypothesis is simply that you are betting on slow growth in giant companies. The growth rate of Reliance, HDFC Bank and Infosys will always be slower than your growth Elephants aren't good at sprinting but they are excellent animals for carrying luggage. The problem is you don't have enough cash (luggage) right now to use the skills of elephants You should be absolutely fine with losing money in business, starting content, trading, an agency, or investing in better AI tools The only mandatory investment that you should be making is in your health via health insurance & fitness regime The best case will be your risky bets paying off before you enter mid 30s and your peers will still be struggling for promotion in the plateau phase of their careers The worst case will still be getting another job or starting a one man service business on the internet to pay your bills The opposite of chasing excellence is usually mediocrity, not the failure that people fear in their lives We need to accept that the era of the average job leading to a peaceful life is pretty much over globally and previous generations are benefiting from asset price inflation. They don't really need to change anything to live their life. You are on your own and the worst thing you can do is risk your money on elephants of the past on the advice of sheep who are still living in fear It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything

Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends. I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two. To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work. I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up. People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized. Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two. I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit. Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity. I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health. Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission. If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs. A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏

Why investors cannot become wealthy by doing SIP of 10,000 INR in their 20s? SIPs are just a way to deploy your money and it doesn’t necessarily mean you will continue getting 12% CAGR from indices The idea of making money in your 20s by job & business is far better than having a goal of making 1 Crore in your 60s by SIPs
