SIX GALAXIES… BECOMING ONE 🌌
JWST has captured an extraordinary scene from the early universe: six ancient galaxies merging inside a region smaller than the Milky Way.
Their light traveled nearly 12 billion years to reach us, showing the universe when it was only about 1.8 billion years old.
Together, these galaxies contain hundreds of billions of stars and are forming new stars at an incredible rate—up to 163 stars every year, compared with just 1–2 in the Milky Way.
At the center, a young supermassive black hole is growing alongside them.
We are witnessing the construction of a cosmic giant—billions of years in the making. 🌌
The universe is constantly changing, colliding, merging, and creating something new.
We may be tiny compared with the cosmos, but we can still look back billions of years and understand its story.
