Kindle version free for only two more days! Ghost Circuits: How Intelligence Emerges from the Interaction of Body, Brain, and Environment amzn.eu/d/01L4h9Tc#Amazon via @Amazon
Yesterday I gave this talk to the Design Engineering community at @imperialcollege, where I leaned more towards the philosophical side of Ghost Circuits: piped.video/watch?v=-A9qvg1v…
Thank you, @MarwaEldiwiny. You did a wonderful job distilling a five-year journey into a short conversation. I am delighted that these ideas are reaching a wider audience and provoking discussion about ghostly nature of intelligence.
Early readers are taking Ghost Circuits in directions I had hoped for but could never predict, from systems thinking to philosophy to embodied intelligence.
Grateful to see it reaching readers in 10 countries already.

Signed the first copy. Felt so good to see a young person excited about going beyond the brain to understand intelligence as an embodied process.

I’m releasing Ghost Circuits book after more than fifteen years of research about how intelligence really emerges from movement and interaction. It invites you to rethink #intelligence. Now the Kindle version is available for pre-ordering: amazon.co.uk/dp/B0GZHZBTSM
It was a very interesting panel discussion on Soft Robotics for Space at #ICRA2025 with Cecilia Laschi, Allison Okamura, Jonathan Rogers, and Neal Lii. The consensus was to focus on structural autonomy to respond to complex contexts than a material softness. #NASA#JPL#ESA#ISRO
Shooting capsules of compressed tiny ice pallets would give us longer range to fight wildfires than squirting water from hoses which is designed for more short range firefighting.
Just a thought this morning and a rough hand sketch for any subject experts to take.
This is the Airbnb place I stayed during my visit to Caltech and JPL. The host was very nice and the place was located in a beautiful mountain range in Eaton. Please help if possible:

Our collaborator Rodrigo Galindo from @StanfordMed visited the lab and gave an insightful talk about the challenges of neonatal care and what #CAPE has been doing to the @ImperialRobots community
Today @JayaramKaushik gave a fantastic talk titled "Shape morphing insect-scale origami robots for locomotion in cluttered terrain". Check out the cool work in his lab such as the Compliant Legged Autonomous Robotic Insect (CLARI): piped.video/watch?v=5aoLZ3aU…
Very proud of this work that shows how physical systems can be designed to passively respond to certain environmental features in a meaningful way. One can call it embodied intelligence.
This month, I had the best out of my sabbatical. Had the opportunity to visit several places, give talks, discuss what we can do together in future, and of course have a lot of fun. Wrote a small blog peice about some memories: thrishantha.blogspot.com/202…
