Today we’re launching America.gov, a single front door to the federal government.
Instead of opening a bunch of tabs across different agency sites and trying to figure out which information actually matters to you, you can ask America a question and get the relevant answer from across 29,000+ official government websites, with the source and what to do next.

The nation owes a debt to @JGebbia and his excellent team. They worked incredibly hard, with no compensation, to make government services work better for all Americans.

Imagine seeing your work announced on the national stage by the world's most gifted speakers, like @SecRubio who introduced our new design for the U.S. Passport, in collaboration with the State Department. National Design Studio is growing! ndstudio.gov/jobs

Thank you @jgebbia and @as400495 for bringing together such an incredible team around one of the coolest and most meaningful missions out there.
We’re growing fast and looking for great engineers and designers to join us. Reach out at jobs@ndstudio.gov or DM me if you’re interested.
It’s amazing to see the response to America.gov. The credit starts with @elonmusk. Thank you Elon for opening the door for tech to take greater interest in gov. You took a lot of arrows doing it. Wouldn’t be here without you.
Thank you President Trump @POTUS for your genius initiatives like this to fix things for everyday Americans, and @SusieWiles47 for supporting this effort since before the Executive Order 14338 last year.
Thank you Ed Coristine @as400495, Peter Arnell @arnelldesign and the entire team at National Design Studio. I admire your ingenuity, perseverance, and commitment to excellence you have shown shipping this historic new platform.
Thank you to Ed Forst @USGSA_Ed and the teams at GSA for partnering in such a profound way.
Thank you Cabinet members and your agencies who believe in making our nation a leader in the citizen experience.
With the platform established, now the work begins to radically upgrade the experience of living in America.

One year ago yesterday, @jgebbia and @as400495 convinced me to make the crazy decision to leave private sector and move from Brooklyn to Washington DC to join @ndstudio as the first externally hired engineer. We didn’t have an office yet, just a broad directive to rethink how Americans interact with their government.
A year later, that work has come together in America.gov: one place to ask questions in plain English and find your way to the government services you need.
It’s been an honor to help build this alongside a team that cares deeply about getting the details right and excited for where we'll be in one more year.

29,000 federal websites. 40,000,000 visits a day. Now one point of access.
Everything you need from the federal government, in one place: America.gov.
Powered by SI that keeps none of your conversations, with your personal details stripped out on your own device before it ever sees them.

Here is how that works in practice.
Before anything you type into America.gov leaves your phone, a filter called Rampart reads it on your device. Rules catch Social Security numbers, card numbers, bank account and routing numbers, phone numbers, emails and government IDs.
Those details get swapped out in your browser in about 4 milliseconds. The server only ever sees the blanks.
None of that information ever even leaves your device

@jgebbia: "All of this, by the way, is private by design. It doesn’t keep your personal information or your conversations. You’re not required to log in to use it, and it doesn’t track you."

You could be employee number 40,000 at a big tech company, or one more hire at another SI startup.
Or you could join @ndstudio and ship products that 340 million Americans actually use.
America.gov is the new front door for 40 million daily visits across 29,000 federal websites. TrumpRx, Trump Accounts and the official IRS app all shipped in under two years.
Be a pioneer. Patriots building on the tech frontier so every American gets easy, streamlined access to their own government.
Join. 🇺🇸

We launched America.gov today. The federal government has over 27,000 websites. Most are outdated and confusing. You can't just fix one site at a time. So we built one beautiful product to replace them all. One place to find anything you need in the government and get it done.
Check it out below and let me know your thoughts!

I’ve joined the National Design Studio 🇺🇸
The technological miracle that is "AI" was only made possible because of the freedoms and excellence that America protects. It's a great honor of mine to be able to give back to the country I love.
I’ll be spending time with the @ndstudio, where I'll help the team build beautiful and modern federal software like america.gov. While not serving at NDS, I will continue my work at Cognition.
We've suddenly found ourselves with a Super Intelligence that can invent dreams.
It can heal the sick. It can drive a car. And it will define the next decade of American progress.
Today just felt too consequential to stay away.
At Cognition, @ScottWu often talks about how AI will make everything from the DMV to your child's elementary school website work as beautiful and smoothly as Instagram. This is exactly the mission of NDS, and it's why I'm so excited to join.
