After building a writing app, I have no excuse not to write that novel.

Agree 100% Will. Living with purpose makes life worth living. Not a millionaire but I've maintained open source projects for years. I love getting emails from random strangers telling me how my software helped them solve a problem. I love writing code, I love giving back to the open source community, and I love helping people solve problems.

Not wishing to invoke a pile-on here, but there are non financial rewards in Open Source. - Love of the craft - Intellectual curiousity - Developing your own expertise - Giving back by mentoring others - Being part of a community - Plain old altruism None of which may have a immediate monetary reward. There is also the possibility of monetary reward in the future. Benefiting others being rewarded financially are not always mutually exclusive. It's also not a binary thing. You absolutely can have a day job (coding or other) and do a bit of Open Source on the side. Or even work in Open Source full-time. Much of the developers I correspond with day-to-day fall into this category. Employed by big (or medium) tech, working on Open Source projects. Fulfillment in life tends to come from a variety of sources. For me, the main one is my wife. There are many other things that give me fulfillment, and that includes Open Source. But you do you. If I were a millionaire, I would still be doing Open Source. But I did it when I was poor as well. 🤷‍♂️
Open-source is for millionaires who have enough money and looking for ways to achieve fulfilment in their life. Us, working class, don’t have the luxury to code for free.

New version of Dinkus will land soon. 1.9.0 supports printing, and exporting to Word and PDFs. Additionally, you can now drag dividers in the sidebar and editor panes for a more IDE like experience. dinkus.textualize.io/

By popular demand, I am adding draggable dividers to Dinkus -- which is dangerously close to being an IDE now. dinkus.textualize.io/

FastAPI is a platform to build on.
I think this is big. 🌠 FastAPI's objective is to provide what you always need for real prod apps. And not provide what you don't. You always want metrics, there's just not enough time to always set it all up. Now it's just there, by default.

FastAPI now has built-in OpenTelemetry support, natively 📈 No extra code needed. See how your app behaves in production. Go and upgrade to "fastapi[standard]" version 0.142.2 ⬆️ Read the docs: fastapi.tiangolo.com/advance…

It’s pronounced TRY BLURRA btw.
There is always a .com you can get for $5k that's better the tryblurgh.‌ai you're currently using. The reason you don't see it is (a) lack of imagination and (b) because you're attached to Blurgh, which you shouldn't be, because it's not that great anyway.

As you know, I post a lot of screenshots of my apps. X limits you to 4 images, although you can only see 1 at a time without interacting with the carousel. I can also record videos, but they don't auto-play. Neither is a good way to grab the attention of a doom-scroller. I figured that I could create a slideshow with an animated gif. And now I think this is a good compromize. The slideshow below is a 4 frame, 868KB animate gif. The quality is somewhat reduced, but I think it does a decent job of quickly selling an app from its screenshots.
