We wrapped up
@Colosseum Accelerator Cohort 5.
Here’s what we actually got from them firsthand, from before the accelerator ~ after Demo Day.
Before Colosseum:
Flovia
@Flovia402 started as a new company at the Colosseum Hackathon back in April.
We had a 1-month sprint, sharing progress every week, which really helped create the urgency to ship smth every single day.
Even tho we ended up winning, I’d say the sprint itself mattered more than the one-off submission or result. (from exp having won 20+ hackathons before)
During the accelerator:
A few things to touch on.
1. The intro support was strong.
Each person on the Colosseum team has their own strong network and great relationships w/ people in it.
A lot of their intros literally ended up becoming our customers.
2. P2P distance among founders matters.
Being a founder can get lonely sometimes.
Having other founders close by matters more than ppl expect. It’s also great stimulation seeing the ppl next to you keep making progress.
Cohort 5 had a lot of great folks.
3. The in-person office actually matters.
I literally slept on the office couch more times than I can count lol.
Having a place where you can just laser-focus on the company was super valuable.
(p.s. SF rent being crazy def makes the office even more valuable lol.)
After Demo Day:
The team kept supporting us individually after Demo Day, even on personal stuff.
Overall, if you’re seriously trying to build a startup from nothing, esp in crypto, I’d vouch for Colosseum.
Best thing we can do in return is make our startup succeed.
KEEP MOVING no matter what.
