JUMP sale has basically been the thing everyone’s been waiting on the last few days
so instead of writing another take on it, I wanted to actually learn how user-created prediction markets work and show the whole process
I tried
@xomarket for the first time and started with one sentence:
Will total deposits in the JUMP sale on Legion reach $50M by Oct 2?
MODRA generated the category, rules, source and resolution setup for me, but the first draft wasn’t perfect
it classified JUMP as a memecoin and picked Binance + CoinGecko as resolution sources
so I changed it to Crypto / ICO, used the official Legion sale page, and set the cutoff to Oct 2, 13:00 UTC
then I seeded Yes with just $10 at 50¢
that’s obviously tiny liquidity I kept it small on purpose because this was more about testing the full creation flow and learning how it works than trying to bootstrap a serious market on day one
I also made one dumb mistake:
MODRA asked for a clarification after review, and I hit reject changes thinking I’d edit it somewhere else
turns out reject = cancel the market request :)
my $10 came back, but the $1 creation fee didn’t
so I quickly made the same market again, hit Accept changes and go live this time, and it worked
the JUMP $50M market is live now
as the market creator, I also get 20% of its lifetime trading fees
the “YouTube of prediction markets” line sounded a bit like marketing before I actually used XO
makes more sense now
you’re not just trading someone else’s markets. you can take whatever people are arguing about and turn it into one yourself
I’m on Yes
if you want to check the market or take the other side:
