Folks, I’ve been made aware that some of my posts are not in the public interest. After listening to the argument, I agree. I need to take some time to reassess how and what I post. My mission here is to try & educate the public about aviation & sometimes the military. These are my passions & I happen to have a journalism background. I’ve at times gone about this in ways that are not productive. If I can’t achieve my mission in a way that is positive, then this account will need to shut down. I’d rather not elaborate any further, but I’m aware that this is social media & many of you will speculate the airline has pressured me. That is not the case & I request we speculate no further. As always, I am not now nor have I ever been a spokesperson for my airline. I have not been contacted & would like to keep it that way. I’m doing this because I would like you to learn, and maybe inspire some. I consider my audience to be people who don’t know much about aviation. It’s not for fame…I have no intention of revealing my identity or going on a podcast or whatever. Nor is it for money; I haven’t accepted offers to partner or advertise & have no intention of doing so. So, I must take some time away from social media. I hope to be back, but in a way that is productive & adds to my profession rather than detracts from it. I don’t think it will be too long. In the interim…maybe occasionally lift that window shade & marvel at the wonders we have achieved. Or take a nap, your call. Either way, we’re going to get you to your destination safely.

i got to $120k revenue without doing half of this. no product hunt. no 50 chatgpt blog posts. no facebook ads. what actually got me my first 100 users (no bs): 1) dm'ing people who had already complained about the exact problem i was trying to solve on LinkedIn and X. keep it short and simple. 2) replying under every post in the niche for 30 days. not “check out my tool.” actual answers with insights. 3) obsessing over the first 20 users. be it calls, loom videos, or fixing their setup myself. 4) posting the $$ numbers. $0. then $10k. people trust authenticity. ads and blogs only start working after some users are already paying you. before that 90% of the job is just talking to people who already have the problem. are you stuck at getting users for your product? comment the product link and i’ll tell you how i'll go about acquiring your first 100 users. first 10 comments get a loom video. IMO the only tests you should have in the age of coding agents are, in order of priority: 1. Full E2E tests. Nothing mocked out at all. Can even be something that runs in prod on test accounts via Playwright or equivalent. 2. Integration tests. Agents make more mistakes as things bleed between data/API boundaries where schemas can drift. 3. Golden tests. This helps ground the code with real examples of data, and can be used as regressions against edge cases. Unit tests are bloat 99% of the time if you’re using a frontier model since they’re smart enough now to get the implementation (and subsequent iterations) right on the first shot, so they only add bloat at this point.
