He tragically didn’t make it.
When Austin Stallman’s mom publicly said goodbye to her 21-year-old son on September 29, Jeanna shared this photo of herself looking into his eyes when he was just a baby.
“Oh, how I will miss being able to look into my boy’s eyes for the rest of my life.”
In mid-September, people were asked to pray for this Texas A&M senior as doctors fought to save his life after heat stroke and rhabdomyolysis left him critically ill.
Austin passed away on the morning of September 29.
“We did not get the miracle we wanted and our hearts are broken,” Jeanna wrote. “But these beautiful blue eyes of my believing boy are now seeing the glory of God.”
Austin became critically ill after growing disoriented during a nine-mile run. His dad, Brazoria County Sheriff Bo Stallman, told The Facts that Austin was placed on dialysis around the clock as doctors fought to get his kidneys and liver to respond.
For nearly two weeks, his family prayed beside him as thousands of others joined them.
People donated blood.
Strangers learned Austin’s name.
An army prayed for the miracle his parents desperately wanted.
Jeanna says those prayers now need to carry her family through a different journey.
“We are bringing our little fisherman home.”
She calls Austin her favorite fisherman and believes his fight brought people closer to God.
“I am so blessed I got to be Austin’s mom.”
If you prayed for Austin when his story was first shared, please don’t stop now.
Pray for Jeanna and Bo as they face a lifetime of missing their son.
Rest peacefully, Austin.
