A year ago I had never touched Unreal Engine. Then I took @SchoolOfMotion’s Unreal Engine for 3D Artists class with @JonathanWinbush. That started my Unreal Engine learning journey. 365 days later I’m making stuff like this.
Let's just get this out of the way... I'm being challenged by a lot of people saying I'm being obtuse because this is not generative AI and that's different. Or that no one is arguing that there is a problem with using AI for rudimentary repetitive tasks like this.
1. LTX 2.5 is a generative AI model trained on as much video as any other model - and it's probably why the tool is as good as it is.
2. For some people what bothers them isn't what the tool is made of, but how it's used. They feel it should be used for repetitive rudimentary tasks but not for spitting out imagery. That's fine. That's a choice about your workflow.
3. But for others there are very black-and-white moral and ethical issues with using any AI. That might not be you, but don't pretend it's not a thing.
I'm not being obtuse, I'm looking at all the angles.
Any compositor who looks at this and says I won't use a tool like this because it's AI is just stupid and self-sabatoging. There is nothing precious about green screen removal. There is nothing artistic about rotoscoping. It's painful, costly, time consuming grunt work that almost nobody enjoys. And if you happen to be someone that does, do it in your own free time. No employer wants to pay for your me roto time.
Speaking as someone who has done literally hundreds of hours of roto, its about freaken time. x.lingyaoai.com/ltx_io/status/21060152…
I worked with some big VFX guys I the most recent movie I gaffed.
They are absolutely using AI and enjoying it.
Haven’t done the math, but it sounds like it’s more green and energy efficient than rendering particle sims in many scenarios from what they said.

What is currently the state of the art for AI-generated music videos. Seedance has not been amazing about not altering the music and therefore the lip-sync. Is there a model out there that does this well?

The last drop of VFX Week: Alpha Gen (Beta).
Give it an ordinary RGB clip and get back an alpha matte that matches your plate frame for frame. No green screen, no masks, no prompt.
Built for the edges that are hard to key or roto: hair, fur, smoke, fire, glass, water. 🧵

Dick Van Dyke isn't just a legendary actor and dancer. He was also a devoted Commodore Amiga user.
He bought his first Amiga in 1991, got hooked on LightWave 3D and the Video Toaster, and started making his own 3D animations and effects at home.
He even used that setup to create a CGI motorcycle stunt for an episode of Diagnosis: Murder — a shot the production couldn’t safely film — and received an on-screen credit (and $200) for the work.
He later spoke at NewTek / LightWave and Amiga events and showed his animations at SIGGRAPH.This is one of the pieces he made on his Amiga.
What a legend!
This man is a hero.
Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.
Indian. Israeli. Emirati.
Different nationalities. One extraordinary act of courage. 🇮🇳🇮🇱🇦🇪
We wish Captain Machchhar a full and speedy recovery.

🚨 BREAKTHROUGH: A 25-year-old biologist has built something that sounds like science fiction.
Pilar Ferrer, from Argentina, created an injectable gel that helps the heart repair itself after a heart attack.
She's 25. Let that sink in. 🧵
