Crypto is a dark forest. That is clear to all serious participants. We have priorities that address the issues that were observed in this launch: - fix tokenomics - incentivize capital formation, don't incentivize speculation - smart contract logic > trust/promises (e.g. no fully liquid allocations to project/advisors) - give projects an ecosystem to work and form an aligned community - before any token launch - align scientific process with investor time-horizons Onwards.
Update on NeuroLabs Ignition Sale We want to clarify what happened during the launch and what we’re changing going forward. 1. Based on past launches, we intentionally didn’t communicate a specific finalization time to allow a buffer for the launch to finalize and for us to verify that everything was correct before distributing allocations. However, an outdated message from a previous deployment was still displayed on the finalization page, stating it would happen within 30 minutes. A disruption to our subgraph infrastructure delayed finalization leaving about an hour between the sale ending and TGE. We’re sorry for the wait. 2. We saw concerns about a wallet receiving tokens without participating in the Ignition Sale and selling shortly after. This wallet belonged to a NeuroLabs advisor and had been funded just before the launch. The advisor sold tokens representing 2.15% of the total supply. NeuroLabs AI's tokenomics allocated 14.83% of the total supply to advisors, fully liquid at launch as communicated on the Bio launchpad sale page. We always recommend vesting for team, investor and advisor allocations but accepted the team's request to make the advisor allocation fully liquid for this launch. Going forward, we’ll enforce vesting for all team, investor and advisor allocations to better protect supporters. 3. From our side, we will refund all BioXP spent on the sale to all participants including those who purchased instant BioXP. We believe DeSci should give projects the funding and community support to deliver on their roadmaps beyond the TGE. We're building towards this through early community building and funding on OpenLabs, with permissionless launches and milestone-based funding in development for the Bio launchpad. The goal is to let projects focus on their scientific work, with supporters committed to that longer-term progress. Thank you for your patience and continued trust as we build an ecosystem of tools and communities to move science forward.

A quick refresher on how the USDC raised in the sale is allocated: • Initial raise: $200K • 50% ($100K) went directly to NeuroLab to fund their research • 50% ($100K) went into the LP • Trading fees generated by the LP are split 70% to NeuroLab and 30% to Bio Protocol Check our docs for a breakdown of how BioXP pledges determine sale allocations: docs.bio.xyz/bio/introductio…

A few weeks ago I saw a post from @undiagnosed_1 and inspired by it, I reached out - he told me about his rare disease, and how it was misdiagnosed for years, including seven short read genomes from top providers. His gene was sitting in a sequence gap, the 8% that short reads drop, and long read finally found it. He then got a telomere to telomere genome from Karen Miga, the person behind the first complete human genome. 6.93 terabytes, and he was looking to find somebody to analyze it. I told him to post about it on X. @Codaracodes commented. A self taught biologist who learned genomics in a year. They agreed on a project plan and they are now posting in public on @openlabsbio . New features are coming that will support JJ's work. Results will be published with Research to the People. DeSci at its best. If you are sitting on data and nobody will fund the analysis, my DMs are open.

excellent paper from Deepmind on the specifics of agent fleets for science, and forward-thinking plans of the societal impact. tokenizing science by @BioProtocol is mentioned as a great primitive cc: @paulkhls
Happy to share a new preprint: "Agentic Economies for Autonomous Scientific Discovery" arxiv.org/abs/2609.31562 that encapsulates our thoughts on the AI revolution in science, and how applying an economic lens enables us to better recognize the key bottlenecks and how to address them.

AI can generate more hypotheses. Lab time and research budgets still determine which ones get tested. A new @GoogleDeepMind preprint explores how scientists and AI agents could coordinate those resources. It cites @cl2pp’s work on IP-NFTs and how BioDAOs fund early-stage research. With BIOS and OpenLabs, we’re working to turn scientific ideas into fundable, tradable assets faster. Thanks @weballergy and co-authors for exploring how agentic science could work in practice.

New on OpenLabs: Dog Years DAO is exploring follistatin gene therapy for aging dogs 🐾 Joint pain can make dogs less active. Weight gain can then add more strain to their joints. Tristan Roberts (@aitherick) and his team propose using plasmids, small pieces of DNA to help cells produce follistatin, a protein that regulates muscle growth. Work in veterinary research or gene delivery? Explore the project and join the discussion ↓

Our Head of BD, Michelangelo (@oxMichelangelo) will be at @ARDD_Meeting in Boston this week until Saturday. If you're building in consumer biotech, rare diseases or longevity and $25–150K could fund your next research step, DM him to meet. We’d also love to chat if you’re an investor with promising projects that are still too early for your fund.
I will be attending @ARDD_Meeting in Boston from Thursday to Saturday! Looking forward to connect with fellow investors, cracked builders in consumer biotech and rare diseases, and longevity enthusiasts looking for the latest advancements in research. I am there looking for projects where a check of $25-150K unlocks the next research step. Also for investors sitting on something too early for their fund, where a check that size is what makes it attractive. Wanna schedule some time already, my DMs are open @BioProtocol

AI co-scientists still need humans steering the work. BIOS helps researchers move from a question to a candidate worth testing. It searches literature, analyses data and designs candidate protein binders, then filters them into a computational shortlist.
Artificial-intelligence systems can generate hypotheses, design experiments and analyse data — but humans still need to decide what makes sense go.nature.com/4rPJHYl

Congrats to the PeptAI team on being selected for Track 2 of the @adaptyvbio x @AnthropicAI Protein Design Competition! Great to see the team joining researchers from around the world to advance AI-driven protein design and put new designs to the test. Follow @peptai_ to track their progress ↓
The PeptAI team has been selected for Track 2 of the @adaptyvbio x @AnthropicAI Protein Design Competition! The competition brings together researchers from around the world to use AI to design new potential drug candidates for diseases that affect millions of lives. Track 2 includes Claude Max 20x accounts for three months, plus $500 in @Modal compute credits for the team. Excited to join researchers exploring AI for protein design, with experimental testing and results shared openly on @Proteinbase so others can access the data and build on what we learn.

Finding the right open source scientific software shouldn't be the hard part of your research. Open Science Index groups tools by scientific application. You start from your research problem and compare the options against each other. We check the source registries daily, so you can see what is new and what is still maintained ↓

An early experiment should clarify a decision: continue, change course, or stop. A negative result can save months of work. The hard part is funding that test before there’s a success story. Bio helps research teams raise community backing for the next milestone.
