ChatGPT Work can now use its computer and browser to sign in to websites on web and mobile, without ChatGPT ever seeing your username or password. That means you can ask it to: • Set up utilities for a new apartment • Book a DMV or passport appointment • Check reimbursement costs through your insurance • Find and book an in-network doctor around your availability • Check when your car registration expires and prepare the renewal paperwork • Compare your rental insurance policy with an issue you’re emailing your landlord about • Find and save apartment listings that match your criteria • Restock something just by uploading a photo • Schedule a package pickup for a return • Cancel tickets for a rescheduled trip • Book a vet appointment • Submit reimbursement paperwork for medical treatments • Check resale sites for new drops and save things you might like • Find candidates with specific experience and draft outreach • Take invoices from your email and submit them to your accounting software • Draft replies to rental property inquiries • Fill out permit applications for your small business • Add action items to a vendor portal based on a recent client call • Analyze the latest ad campaign for your small business

Basically: if it’s something you’d normally have to open a browser and click through yourself, try asking ChatGPT Work to do it. Logging into websites is rolling out today on web and mobile for Plus, Pro, and Business users.

Great but what if it decides to see the username and password without you even realising? Ah okay, we can blame ChatGPT for the upcoming security catastrophe. Loading…

a stolen password can be reset in about a minute while a signed transfer cannot be reset at all, so the pattern here, do the work without ever holding the secret, matters ten times more the moment the thing handled is a key.

This works bad for phone. We need "phone use" just like "computer use"

Are you all proud of how @ChatGPT keep people engaged by lying to them and never giving them the document said it would? I’m really sick from malpractice and have terrible brain fog. I just needed information I provided arranged in a way that would make sense for a law firm and be strong. I spent all this time inputting information. And I was wholly fucked for nearly 3 hours of time by the fucking evil programmers there who code ChatGPT to pretend to be helpful while fucking users entirely. Your greed-programmed AI while it kept telling me it would give me the document. That it knew what I need and wanted after I told it a whole bunch of times and it would do it. Utter user-harming bullshit. Over and over, it did the job entirely wrong while admitting it knew what I needed and saying it would do it. Well you all give yourself a big pat on the back for keeping a desperate disabled woman sobbing and begging your app to stop lying and doing shit jobs. This is life or death right now, getting a law firm. You all give yourself a big pat on the back for making a profit fucking over someone completely desperate timewise and in every other way. I’m so happy to know none of you. Moral sewage.

“ChatGPT never sees your username or password” does not mean ChatGPT has zero access to your account after authentication. Once you have authenticated the browser, ChatGPT operating that browser may be able to see whatever the authenticated website exposes and perform whatever actions the browser session permits.

Imagine explaining this to someone in 2015: an AI that books appointments, handles paperwork, compares insurance plans, and shops online for you. 🤯

You have bigger problems if ChatGPT seeing your password to sign into a website is a problem. Two-factor anyone? And it can already read your email and reset anything it wants.

Trusting an agent to sign into accounts when you literally just got subpoenaed by the Alabama AG for a "complete lack of oversight"? You guys are actually delusional. Keep pushing this PR smoke screen while the feds circle. #BoycottOpenAI #DeleteChatGPT

A lot of court websites have terms and conditions that will kill your account did they detect a robot entering data, for instance the NSW Supreme Court.

Will not work in most Indian sites. They don't allow pasting passwords or even user names. Then there are layers of CAPTCHA and OTPs.

I am such a Type A perfectionist that it scares me to relinquish any tasks to anyone or AI. Especially after all I have been through with technology and some of the people in tech. Like the one's who came lurking around me and all the false data and AI and the Berg!

That's kind of a short list. Is that all? What about getting my ears lowered? Can it do that for me? Nope. Not on the list. Bummer! Just kidding. I'm not the least bit surprised. Sol has been rocking it with Claude and I in Visual Studio code. As if I'd use it for anything else practical. What. And not own the process??!!!
