My heart breaks for Lindsay Clancy. I hate that it took a tragedy like this to talk about women's mental health and postpartum depression. Too often, it is swept under the rug.
Our healthcare system has failed women. Many women are given the baby, told good luck, and thrown out on the street.
These are real issues that impact tons of new moms. And it can lead to psychosis that gets worse with each child. The only way it changes is by addressing a healthcare system that is overwhelmed and unaccessible.

No, Lindsay Clancy was working with doctors before she murdered her children. She tried 30 different psychiatric medications leading up to it.
The problem isn’t that she was ignored by our mental healthcare system, it’s that our mental healthcare system is broken for everyone.

ridiculous logic. the doctor prescribed her medication but even if that medication was flawed you blame the patient for taking so you think basic medical malpractice is the fault of the patient. being a nurse doesn't mean you Psychiatrists. FIELDS OF MEDINCE are different.

core defense is postpartum psychosis impairing her criminal responsibility. The medications are presented as an important factor that worsened her condition, not as a standalone “drugs made me do it” excuse.
