Your value in using AI is not in typing a prompt and then moving a task along. Y'all need to get outside of this mindset. If you are not adding value with the steps or interactions then what's the point? AI or not, you still need to approach this like it's engineering.

Your emotions deserve attention, not authority. Feelings are real. Acknowledge them. But don't confuse them with instructions. I don't follow my mood I follow my plan.

I'm headed to Amsterdam and I have my seasonings ready to take with me 😃 Whenever I travel internationally, that's the one thing I make sure I bring with me now. Little pocket containers I can take anywhere with me to give the food a little flavor!

You can literally change the trajectory of your life in 90 Days. Lucky for you, there are 91 days left in the rest of 2026. You got an extra day to make something big happen before 2027 starts.

Programming is just confidently typing something, getting an error you’ve never seen before, and whispering “that’s new.” and then being a senior developer is mostly having enough experience to know that the thing you’re about to try probably won’t work, but trying it anyway because we are running out of ideas.

Almost half a billion tokens and it only cost me $17.41. This is my token spend on Jev @typesafeai since getting access to it 10 days ago. To say I am a fan of the product is an understatement but the overall value is just unreal. Podcast episode on it will be coming out soon!

Jev existed for about a week, it brought down the token cost in several of my projects by almost 70%. It has been incredibly impressive. I now see several orgs now creating solutions to compete with it. Based on my testing so far, Jev is still the correct solution.

If you are job searching in the U.S. and using AI for everything, forgetting DSA is going to be one of your biggest mistakes. Regardless of how hype social media is, MANY companies are still using Data Structures and Algorithms based challenges to qualify candidates.

Rep & Plate. The Fitness app I have been working on. Still lots to do but I have been having so much fun with Spot! Spot is your Spotter in the app!

If you’re going to Atlassian Team ’26 Europe, come build with me! Come spend 3 hours with me building with Forge, AI, Forge LLMs, & Rovo Agents. This isn’t a “sit back and watch some slides” workshop. We’re getting hands-on and building real workflows. My goal is simple: You should leave this workshop wanting to tell everyone at work what you just learned! Link to the workshop! events.atlassian.com/teameur…

Another day another gym sesh. Back to 175lbs on the bench for 5x8, will probably be back to 185 after the Netherlands and more than likely back to 225lbs in the next 90 days. Been easing back into the gym. Ever since seeing my photos from CYC26 I'm determined to drop 100lbs 😤

For those that know me, they will know this is something I don't think I would have ever said. I just booked a 7 Day cruise for myself and the fam with @MSCCruisesUSA. I need all the tips! What do I need to know? Boats freak me out, can't even lie, but we are doing it!

Happy 28th Birthday @Google! 28 years ago, y’all took an idea, gave it a name, and built something so useful that the name eventually became a verb. “Google it.” That’s a hell of a legacy!

Every fitness app I’ve ever used, I eventually quit. So I’m building the one I wish existed. I have started losing weight but everything feels like a chore with these apps. The problem is the apps became another job. - Log the meal. - Find the food. - Fix the serving size. - Enter the workout. - Do it again tomorrow. So I’m building around one idea: I shouldn’t have to track my life. I should just tell the app what happened. Take a picture of dinner. Send a screenshot of what I ordered. Say, “Bench was 185 for 8, 8, 7.” The software handles the bookkeeping. Still very early, but this is what it looks like so far:

There is something special about a room full of software developers who just want to hang out with other software developers. No big pitch. No forced networking. No pretending everybody has it all figured out. Just people talking shop, sharing ideas, laughing, debating, teaching, learning, and probably arguing about something unnecessarily specific. That is what I love about Dallas Software Developers Group! We get to build a place where people who spend all day thinking about weird technical problems can walk into a room and immediately feel like they found their people. Sometimes community is not about where it takes you. Sometimes it is just really good to be around people who get it. Another great night with the Dallas dev community. ❤️
