I JUST RECEIVED THE FINAL VERSION OF THE BOOK!🥹 We poured EVERYTHING into this book. Many books focus on AI from the perspective of the highest levels of education but what about the average corporate dev that wants to stay ahead & do well at their jobs? We wrote this for you!

Your value in using AI is not in typing a prompt and then moving a task along. Y'all need to get outside of this mindset. If you are not adding value with the steps or interactions then what's the point? AI or not, you still need to approach this like it's engineering.

Ive honestly been gaining a ton on insight on my work projects via using a method I learned from you: spinning up 3 relevant personas and having them engage in a dialogue about a feature or system I’m thinking of implementing.

I feel like @OpenAI really messed up with their dots launch. They tried so hard to be like @bot and lean on its success. So what are they doing wrong? Grok bot came out and its release made the product seem natural and easy to use. dots is too but they dont seem to be able to show us that. Instead it seems confusing and stressful and not fun. Maybe thats the key ingredient. @bot sold us fun and it is. I would love @OpenAI to show us that dots can be fun and easy to navigate rather than just having a telephone call which may seem easy to navigate but actually its just delegating stuff but what happens after that, how do you see the tasks really being done and the outcomes of them. There is so much great content that can be created around these products that it should be so easy to make them shine. Show us that using the product is fun. I love my bots. I would like to love my dots too but im not excited enough to try it out

Agreed. I even wrote this on one of their posts because I don't think they truly get it. "I am someone that is extremely into the space. I know there is value somewhere with dots but I just can't see why I would prefer this compared to Grok bot, or proactive agents like Muse or Instinct. I am not saying there isn't a case for it, I am sure there is, BUT nothing has shown it yet. Mind you, I am super pro OpenAI these days. I have been using Codex and even using OpenAI APIs for several projects. I am literally the target audience for this one."

It sounds like folks aren’t that impressed with the flight booking product we built. I currently have my dot navigating the US immigration system for a friend moving here - is that sufficiently complex or do most people typically want to do that by hand too 😬
dots demo. Now... with better WiFi.

Your emotions deserve attention, not authority. Feelings are real. Acknowledge them. But don't confuse them with instructions. I don't follow my mood I follow my plan.

I'm headed to Amsterdam and I have my seasonings ready to take with me 😃 Whenever I travel internationally, that's the one thing I make sure I bring with me now. Little pocket containers I can take anywhere with me to give the food a little flavor!

Programming is just confidently typing something, getting an error you’ve never seen before, and whispering “that’s new.” and then being a senior developer is mostly having enough experience to know that the thing you’re about to try probably won’t work, but trying it anyway because we are running out of ideas.

Almost half a billion tokens and it only cost me $17.41. This is my token spend on Jev @typesafeai since getting access to it 10 days ago. To say I am a fan of the product is an understatement but the overall value is just unreal. Podcast episode on it will be coming out soon!

Jev existed for about a week, it brought down the token cost in several of my projects by almost 70%. It has been incredibly impressive. I now see several orgs now creating solutions to compete with it. Based on my testing so far, Jev is still the correct solution.

If you are job searching in the U.S. and using AI for everything, forgetting DSA is going to be one of your biggest mistakes. Regardless of how hype social media is, MANY companies are still using Data Structures and Algorithms based challenges to qualify candidates.

Yes and no. I know it’s an employer’s market, but if more people pushed back, maybe hiring managers would reconsider their interview process. A small or medium business should not have the same interview process as Google or Netflix.

oh, for sure. You're preaching to the choir on this. Don't get me started on that subject. I completely agree.

now, it's necessary to understand some DSA to prioritize attention towards applications

I mean, that was kinda always the situation.

I pass on those. The DSA interviews are irrelevant to the work, but knowing DSA is valuable in building stuff on the side. At least let them use AI to leverage the DSA in the interview. Not everyone remembers all the syntax off the top of their head.
