If the New Tech Elite wants to compete with the Old Ruling Elite and take over The Center, they need to build in a new style that recovers civilizational things that have been lost, while invigorating a new vision of the future. This is what I call Greco-futurism.

If Florida actually wants to compete with the NE and CA for the best uni students they'd build tropical classical campuses.

I have been using Opus 5.5 since it came out. It is the best coding model I have ever used. If someone burns those weights into a chip, I’ll buy and use it for the rest of my life. I don’t need an upgrade after this.

Chat, how do we feel about the Turing Test? Is it still valid in the year of our lord two thousand and twenty six?
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test. 48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video. It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Community note
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard. cellcog.ai/blog/tavus-gri… research.nvidia.com/labs/amri/proj… tech-ish.com/2026/10/02/tav…

Raising a 2 year old is interesting when it comes to identifying emotions - when watching a Disney movie, my son understands WHEN a character in a is sad or glad or mad, but not always WHY they feel that way. Chaining cause & effect for them versus letting them work it out.

Adapt or die.
I'm sorry for scientists and software engineers who are depressed about the fact that AI is doing most of work they have been doing. I know that some found pleasure in writing code in anticipation to see it working either in production or driving an experiment, but nothing prevents anyone from keeping doing that by hand. Some artisans still make nails manually, some restore old cars manually, if it makes you feel happy, keep doing that. But business always switched to more effective and efficient approaches, and using AI is such a switch. No regular client will want to pay for a modern house made with artisanal nails, $10 a nail, so construction contractors use mass made nails. This doesn't make their work less exciting. If tomorrow, a technology will be able to print a house, the construction workers will deliver whole neighborhoods with underground tunnels, nuclear bunkers, and alpine ski hills.

By continuing to engineer software, and by realizing that engineering software now means the management of agents to produce that software. Using agents will make you X times more productive. This does not mean that companies will require fewer programmers. It means that companies will get X times more done, and make X times more profit. I expect the demand for software engineers, who know how to successfully drive agents, to go through the roof.

AI enabled 3D visuals for science education ftw.
ki-math.github.io/orbital-el…

In an age of AI, where even your thinking can be done for you, the self-motivated individual will be a rare breed who stands out, excels, and will thus be attacked by jealous lazy people.

Curious kids in the future will be able to rapidly learn so much with intuitive visuals because of AI.
Spent an afternoon with Claude Opus 5.5 figuring out how a watermill actually works Eventually we got the whole mechanism working, from water filling the buckets and turning the wheel to the gears stepping 6 rpm up to 120 rpm and the stones grinding grain. It is not perfect yet. This wheel is running at around 46% efficiency while a real one typically reaches 60 to 80%. Still, pretty close, ig?

AI is going to enable a golden age of self-educating with animated 3D models of various things and phenomenon for those who embrace the new tech and don’t succumb to their fear of the unknown.
Kids will grow up learning like this. It's insane.

I think the absolute minimum bar for ASI must include producing a conceptual breakthrough on the level of relativity, something that fundamentally changes how a major field understands its problems. Most of the results so far still seem more like the fruit of scaling and search, effectively allocating enormous amounts of human specialist level capability to a single problem, rather than something completely different and new. But humans have produced conceptual breakthroughs of this level. It's hard to call something categorically superintelligent if it can't do the same.

Oftentimes, when you tell an AI coding agent that something isn’t working, it will try to add guardrails around that exact scenario, adding slop code, instead of finding the root cause and fixing it, preventing that situation in the first place, and reducing lines of code.

Incredible. Math and physics should be taught visually.
Maybe if physics had always been this easy to visualize and learn, we might have had more physicists than ever. AI is making learning so much easier to understand and actually fun. This is an electromagnetic field visualization built using Claude Opus 5.5. I do not think I have ever understood this subject better than I did by simply seeing it visualized like this 😅

Math should be taught visually. AI will make this possible in a way never before envisioned.
One of the odd things about learning mathematics is how long you can manipulate an equation without having much of a picture of it in your head. You learn the notation, follow the derivation, get the answer, and move on. Then somebody shows you the same idea visually and you realize there was a geometric intuition hiding underneath the symbols the whole time. A Fourier sum becomes rotating vectors added head-to-tail. Attention becomes a weighted combination you can watch being formed. SVD becomes a sequence of transformations you can follow one step at a time. Even the equation behind a diffusion process feels different when you can see a point following a changing vector field. None of this replaces the mathematics. The equations are still where the precision lives. But once you have a picture in your head, the notation has something to attach itself to. I think this is why some mathematical ideas suddenly become much easier years after we first learned them. We finally stop seeing the equation as a line of symbols to manipulate and start seeing the process it describes. I wish more mathematics had been taught that way.

Will come a time when we will only be able to reason about our codebases through statistical properties about the ensemble Macrostates over microstates
I find it useful to have the AI agent actually measure stats about the repository in order to try to clean it up regularly. Tell your agent to reduce lines of code! To reduce open issues, to reduce useless test cases.
