Whole animal cooking matters because it connects us to something much bigger than barbecue. Across cultures and generations, people have gathered around fire and found ways to honor the entire animal.
Being able to cook and serve our interpretation of that tradition every day in the nation’s capital means a lot to me.

Dukem is closing on U Street November 7th after nearly 30 years (25 years as a full service restaurant).
1st place I had Ethiopian food in DC in 2005 or so. There was a surge of viral interest in them in 2024 after daughter posted a TikTok about their struggles

Starting 10/02, our new BBQ trailer will fully open in Riverdale Park, MD with late-night food from 7:30–10:30pm.
